The exam is created by DPI (The Department of Instruction) & based on the course standards. Please note: The final course exam will count as 20% of the student’s final course grade. There are no exemptions for the course final exam. Previous released exams are available for study/practice. Students will be provided links. Academic Integrity & Course Work ExpectationsHonor CodeParents & students are asked to please read over & familiarize yourselves with the J. P. Knapp Early College Honor Code, which all students are always expected to follow: Due Dates & Missing WorkStudents are expected to adhere to due dates & encouraged to pace themselves accordingly. Above all, students are expected to complete all assigned work to the best of their abilities. In the case of missing assignments, students will be placed on the Office Hours list. Additional interventions:1st Missed Assignment - Teacher Mediation Tue/Thurs Office Hours (Work not completed on by Thursday will be completed during Friday after school Office Hours to ensure students do not fall behind.) Multiple Missing Assignments (3 or more), the circumstance(s) will be evaluated & additional interventions may be used, including, but not limited to: 1st parent contact & required attendance during Office Hours, After School Mediation Friday Afternoon Mediation &/or Extended time, a Student/Parent Conference, a Student/Principal Conference &/or a Student Led Team Intervention Conference As mentioned previously, students are expected to adhere to due dates. Late assignments are subject to a deduction in points or a loss in assignment credit. Policy dictates that assignments are a zero after 3 days has passed unless arrangements have been approved by the teacher. Make-Up Work - Due to Absence(s)In the case of an excused absence, it is the student’s responsibility to retrieve his or her make-up work. Students are given three (3) days to complete & submit make-up work. Students missing a test take in class will be responsible for making said test up in Office Hours or on their own time & listing it on the REVISIT clipboard in the classroom. Students are asked to provide as much advance notice as possible if an extended absence from class is planned. A written note or email from a parent/guardian indicating the dates & reason(s) for the extended absence are acceptable. NOTE: Students that have submitted tests, assignments, etc.…, are provided multiple attempts on all tests/quizzes & assignments/projects. When the maximum attempts on tests are reached students my see the teacher to plan for mediation & reassessment. Also, depending on the score the teacher may require the student to come in for further mediation & reassessment. All resubmitted items MUST be entered by the student on the REVISIT clipboard in the classroom. Emails, REMIND messages, phone messages, notes on my desk will not guarantee teacher review. *Note for presentation/debate type assignments an associated written assignment will be available for those students they have scored low enough to require additional time with the material & for those that choose to make a submission to increase their score/understanding of the content.
