USRAPRECEPTORSHIP

OVERVIEW The Andrews Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center is a beautifully constructed 26,000 square foot medical pavilion which includes digital operating rooms with multi-specialty surgical capabilities. Sixty-five percent of the surgical procedures performed at AI are orthopedic, and the vast majority of orthopedic patients receive a regional anaesthetic as part of their comprehensive perioperative care. Since the opening of the Andrews Institute in 2007, our anesthesiologist have done over 30,000 ultrasound guided regional anesthetics with about 40% of those being continuous catheters. Common blocks performed at Andrews include interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, popliteal, femoral, adductor canal, saphenous, and TAP. Since our USRA preceptorship courses are held on the busiest block days, the result is an incredible opportunity for visiting physicians to witness a vast number of blocks, while interacting with the experts as they perform these procedures.
