FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEMay 21, 2018The American Legion Alabama Boys State is pleased to announce that there will be two Debates of Alabama Governor Candidates at the 81st Annual Alabama Boys State at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa.The Debate between Republican Candidates will be held on Tuesday, May 29th at 7:00 pm at Morgan Hall Auditorium on the Campus of the University of Alabama. Mayor Tommy Battle, Senator Bill Hightower and Evangelist Scott Dawson have accepted. The Debate between the Democratic Candidates will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 7:00 pm at Morgan Hall Auditorium on the campus of the University of Alabama. Retired Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb, Mayor Walt Maddox, former Legislator James Fields and Christopher Countryman have accepted.Moderator: Art Franklin, Emmy Award Winning Anchor, WIAT-TV CBS 42 Panelists: Joey Kennedy, Pulitzer Prize Winning Editorial writer for The Birmingham News writes for B-Metro Magazine & Alabama Political Reporter Tom Gordon, former writer for The Birmingham News and The Anniston Star, writer and editor with B-Metro Magazine and Birmingham Watch Reshad Hudson, WIAT CBS 42 and Nexstar Montgomery Reporter WIAT-TV CBS 42, Birmingham; WKRG, Mobile; WDHN, Dothan; WZDX, Huntsville; WRBL, Columbus, Georgia will live stream both Debates beginning at 7:00 pm each day.
