HTP - Water and Space Heating

Solar Flat Panel Collector Specification SheetModel: SS-26-FP / SS-32-FP / SS-40-FPThe Solar Flat Panel Collector, manufactured by HTP, includes three (3) models with inputs ranging from 26,000 to 40,000 Btu/day. Model SS- FP shall be of the glazed, flat plate liquid type. The collector shall be inches in length, inches in width, inches in height, and pounds in maximum unit weight. The total number of collectors for this project is at ft2 per panel, equaling a total system collector area of ft2. Model SS- FP has an SRCC certified performance data of Btu/day, equaling total system collector performance data of Btu/day.The enclosure box frame of the collector shall be an aluminum extrusion (alloy: 6063-T5) per ANSI H35.1 with an architectural grade anodized or electrostatic medium bronze (MB-40) polyester paint. The collector back-plate shall be painted, Type 3105-H14 stucco embossed aluminum sheet not less than 0.019” thick with a painted finish on the outside face. The collector glazing shall be a minimum 1/8” low iron oxide glass with less than 100 ppm iron content tempered to comply with ASTM C-1948 specifications for heat treated glass, and ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Category II break pattern. Total solar energy transmission per NREL 290-2600 nm minimum of 89% with maximum transmission of 91.57% occurring at 565 nm. Glazing gaskets shall be UV durable EPDM U-channel gaskets with over-molded corners and no seams. All screws and bolts shall be 18-8 stainless steel with black oxide coating. Corners shall be fastened using structural high strength protruding head aluminum blind rivets with a retained aluminum mandrel meeting BS 1473 standards. Shear strength is 6.0 kN with a tensile strength of 4.2 kN typical. Back sheet is fastened using domed head 5056 aluminum rivets with a steel mandrel. Shear strength is 930 N and tensile strength is 1450 N typical.Insulation shall be non-absorbing, closed cell polyisocyanurate foam board using a free rise process, foil faced on both sides, 1” thick on the back of the collector with a minimum R value of 6.5, and ?” thick in the side walls with a minimum R value of 5.0. Insulation complies with ASTM C1289, Type I, Class 2 codes.Absorber plate shall be composed of a header and riser arranged in a parallel flow configuration such that all fluid can drain from the collector when installed with the correct pitch. The header shall be 1” Type M H58 temper full hard alloy copper tube per ASTM B 88 specification and having NSF-61 certification. The riser shall be 3/8” Type M full hard alloy copper tube per ASTM B 88 specification and having NSF-61 certification. Brazed junctions between the header and riser will use a brazing alloy meeting AWS-A5.8 Class BCuP-4 with 15% silphos. The aluminum parallel flow absorber plate shall have 1” type M Copper header tubes per ASTM B 88 specification with NSF-61 certification. The absorber surface shall be a Mirotherm? selective absorptive layer coated with a minimum absorptivity of 0.95% (95%) and a maximum emissivity of 0.05 (5%). The absorber surface shall be laser welded to the Copper riser tubes. Each plate shall be factory pressure tested to 350 psig.Collector instantaneous efficiency curve shall not have less than a minimum Y-Intercept of 0.702 and a slope of no less than 0.801 Btu/hr.ft2.oF.Flat Plate Collectors shall have a design life of 30 years. These collectors shall be warranted to be free from defects in both material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation. Collectors shall be certified to the ICC-SRCC OG-100 Operating Guidelines and Minimum Standards for Certifying Solar Collectors. The surfaces of these products contacted by consumable water contain less than 0.25% lead by weight as required by the Safe Drinking Water Act, Section 1417.NOTE: HTP reserves the right to make product changes or updates without notice and will not be held liable for typographical errors in literature. ................
