Other attendees: Irv Lash, Deb Wanamaker, David Lingenfelter, Jim Friedman, Carla Sokel, Rick Sokel, Karl Kerwood, Jake Furbacher, Dusti FisherPresident Michal Hofkin called the meeting to order at 7:37 PM followed by the Pledge of AllegianceSnack Stand: We gave away a small supply of chips that were due to expire. We still have water and hot dogs. A motion was made to accept this and carried unanimously.Web: No report1st VP Outdoor Intramural Program – Kyle FisherTonight is the last night for intramural gamesThe schedule ran longer than anticipated due to rain outsWe’ve had positive feedback from the parentsThanks to Mike Freed for putting the schedule togetherThanks to David Lingenfelter who handled the referees and mentored Kyle through his first season at the helm of intramuralThe games were competitive for the most part – not many one-sided gamesFall intramural will happen – registration is soonThere will be U6, U7, U10, and U 12 divisionsA motion was made to accept the report and it received a second. The motion carried unanimously2nd VP Travel - Anthony DurningWe had 184 kids try out this year. That is up from 146 last year (26% increase)Any rumors about a mass exodus from our club are completely falseWe will have 11 Travel Program Teams plus the ADVANCE program for Fall SeasonTribe United will likely play in the SpringThe 2104-15 season will have a total of 13 Teams plus ADVANCEMany teams have more primary players and are therefore relying less on secondary playersCHALLENGER ran a goalkeeping clinic in May – it was well receivedTOTAL SOCCER is currently running a field clinic (7 sessions total)A coaches meeting was held in June to prepare the coaches for the coming seasonThe Travel Team Committee met in May and voted on the followingRequests to play upRosters submittedLate fees for late registrationChecks and Balances to ensure all players have registered and paidChange of coach for U9 girls team(A copy of the minutes of this meeting was submitted and will be retained by the club Secretary)Online ordering of uniforms is set up through Angelo’s Soccer TUO systemAll players MUST buy uniforms next year as we are in the second year of a two-year cycleClub registration is online via our websiteJuly 15 is the deadlineLate fee will be $50Coaches will receive a spreadsheet and are responsible to check that all players are registered and have paid. We also need to contact Victory Valley to inquire about renting their space for various indoor activitiesFields & Facilities – Jason GrayField Lining is going wellSoccer camp continued tonight at Phillips FieldThe second set of goals for use at Camelot Park have been orderedMaintenance on Phillips Field will be July or AugustKyle Fisher noted that the fields held up very well for the intramural seasonA motion was made and seconded to accept the report. The motion carried unanimously.Future Directions - Kyle FisherKyle, Deb Wanamaker, and Kristine Kelly are coordinating the Travis Cook Games. This is a fundraiser to benefit Travis Cook, and VSC member, who has a medical condition.The cost will be $125 per team. The format is 8v8.Dusti Fisher created a flyer for distributionThe Cook Family will benefit from the proceedsThe event will be held on August 9. It will extend to the 10th if needed.A motion was made and seconded to accept the report. The motion carried unanimously.OLD BUSINESSA motion to ratify the actions of the Board of Directors since the last meeting was made and seconded. The motion carried unanimously.The Bylaws Rewrite is continuingTony Durning – We will be meeting with Total Soccer to set up Fall TrainingWe need a timeframe for the delivery of the lighting units at the highschoolNEW BUSINESSDavid Lingenfelter made a suggestion:We should create a PR or Marketing position within the clubIt can be a Board position or we can hire a firm outside the clubWe can use this position to contact businesses for sponsorships, advertise events, etc.Perhaps a college student going into marketing?Jim Friedman made a suggestion:Use social media moreMaybe our web master can do itUse Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.Perhaps a senior from the high school can do it as their community service project? Would it qualify?May lead to problems of consistency as the seniors graduateMaybe just as a start to set up accounts and see what works?Kyle will ask the high school if this is possibleIt would be good to have each team name a “social media manager” so that pictures and news can be funneled to the club’s Social Media Director (or PR firm)Kyle Fisher made a suggestion:Build a bridge over the drainage gully at Phillips Field so that people don’t have to get wet crossing the field. Maybe the Girl Scouts can do it as a project?Deb Wanamaker stated that the Travel Tryouts signs need to get picked up. Tony Durning said anyone could grab them and get them to him.GOOD OF THE ORDERU7 boys took second place at the 3v3 Super ShootoutU11 Venom Boys Gold took first place in their Division 1 LVYSL with an undefeated seasonU10 Girls took second place at the LVYSL TournamentA motion to adjourn was made and seconded.
