Teaching Tip

Creat e pairs of index cards w it h homophone pairs w rit t en on t hem. Divide st udent s int o groups of t w o and give each pair a set of homophone cards. Have st udent s look up t he def init ion of each w ord and w rit e it on t he back of t he card. Then have each pair come up w it h a sent ence f or each homophone t o share w it h t he class. See if t he class can guess w hich homophone is used in each sent ence. (Visual, Int erpersonal)
