To form FORMAL and PLURAL commands, use the NEGATIVE Tú Command as your stem and:

• Formal Commands (usted): DROP

+ tú - tú +/- Ud. +/- Uds.

• Remember Usted (you) is used to address someone you do NOT know or to show respect to an older person.

• Ustedes (you, you all) is used to address TWO or more people, y’all!! (

• Affirmative and negative Ud. and Uds. commands have the same spelling changes and irregular forms as negative tú commands.

• The same rules you know for tú commands regarding pronouns apply to Ud. and Uds. commands as well:

Attach pronouns to affirmative commands and add an accent:

With negative commands, pronouns go right before the verb.
