[Pages:5]Parents, to enter your high school student's Elective/Alternate choices for high school, please go to:

Click on Parent Portal.

If you DO NOT HAVE a Parent Portal account, you must go to your child's school and obtain an Activation Key. Once you have the Activation Key, click on `click here'.

If you HAVE a Parent Portal, proceed to Page 3TO SELECT YOUR CHILD'S CLASSES

Your child may also login to portal using their school network login.

Enter your activation number and Submit.

You will then be directed to enter a username and password, which can be anything of your choosing. For Example:

For James Smith, username = jamessmith and password = jsmith123 (no spaces) NOTE: Password must be 8 characters and contain a number or symbol.

Click Create Account.

Click `Click here' and you will see the Portal Login screen. This will take you to the Parent Portal page where you can not only select classes, but you can check your child's progress throughout the school year.

On the left you will see your child's name.

TO SELECT YOUR CHILD'S CLASSES

Click on Registration.

You will now see the Required Courses already assigned to your child. Click on Course Search

Using the Course listing provided by the school, enter the course number and Click GO

Click the Course number. Click Request this course to select the course as an Elective. Click Request as Alternate to select the course as an Alternate Elective. Repeat the above steps to select other courses. All students must have a total of 7 courses for the year. Please select the number of electives needed to complete your student's schedule and choose 3 alternate electives.

v If you have courses ending in 5s (i.e. Health & Personal Fitness or American Gov't & Economics) remember 2 semester classes = 1 credit. In that case the student would have a total of 8 entries for Required + Requested Courses.

When these numbers are equal, then your courses are complete and you are ready to choose your alternates.

Should you disagree with the recommendations of required courses, please complete a waiver form found on the Forsyth Central High School Registration Page and submit to the counseling office.
