Setting up a Remote Desktop Connection
Note: The Remote Desktop Connection is a Microsoft product that you can use to connect to our site to use Ascentis HR. Below, we will give you the credentials to connect to our site and your IT Department can assist you with setting up the Remote Desktop Connection. Please ensure your Remote Desktop Connection meets our system requirements on supporting Remote Desktop Protocol 6.1 or higher and Network Level Authentication. If you have any questions, please contact Ascentis Technical Support.
1. Open Remote Desktop Connection, which you can search for from your computer Start menu. It may be located in All Programs, under Accessories.
2. Enter hr. as the Computer and then Click on the Options button.
Note: You will be prompted to reset your password after you connect to the server for the first time.
3. You can save your username, which will be "Ascentis\" and you can click Save As to save the Remote Desktop Connection to your computer desktop. You could name it something like Ascentis HR on your computer desktop, which you can click on when you want to connect.
4. Click on the Local Resources Tab
Check the box next to Printers to allow you to see your printers while connected to our site. Click on More and check the box next to the Drives on your computer you would like to have available on our site. This will allow you to save documents from Ascentis HR onto those drives on your computer.
5. Click on the Advanced tab and in the server authentication drop-down, choose `Connect and don't warn me.'
6. Click on the Connect Button Once you're logged in and can see your desktop on our site, you will find a shortcut to Employee Manager, Setup Manager, and the Data folder where you can go to modify COBRA notices or save files that are sharable with other Ascentis HR users with access to the same Ascentis HR company. You can also request to share Employee Self-Service documents with a separate folder on your desktop as well. To move documents from hr. to your computer, on our system - click on the Start menu and then click on Computer.
You should be able to see all the Drives from your computer available from our system. You can save and move documents from our Ascentis HR system to your computer, in order to manipulate them in Excel, email them, etc.
To log off and end the session: There is a Log Off shortcut on your desktop. Please click on that to properly log off of our system.
