A) Yes, I go to the college over there. It is called Palomar.

A) No, I’m hard of hearing. Are you deaf?

B) No, I’m hearing. I am taking an ASL 1 class here at the college.

A) Oh-I-see, I am too. Who is your teacher?

B) My teacher’s name is Mr. White.

A) Mr. White? Me too. Where is the class?

B) Over there.

Conversation 1

A) Will you help me carry the chair over there to the room?

B) Now, where?

A) Yes, now. I need to bring it over to the library

B) No, I can’t help you. I’m in a hurry. I am sorry.

A) Ok, I will ask the guy over there.

B) That one? He is stuck up. He won’t help you.

A) No he’s friendly and sweet natured

B) I heard he was mean.

A) You’re wrong. He is nice.

Conversation 2

A) That man over there is my teacher. He is smart.

B) That one with the beard and the hat?

A) No the short man over there. He is thin with black pants.

B) Oh-I-see the man over there in the cafeteria is my teacher.

A) The short man with the jacket?

B) Yes, with the beard and blonde hair.

A) Same as you. He is my ASL teacher

B) He is smart and friendly.

A) You are right. He is really friendly.

Chapter 5&6 conversations

Conversation 1

A) Will you take out the trash? I don’t want to.

B) Yes, but you owe me. I’m tired. I rode my bike here!

A) Will you also close the window, for me? I’m a little cold.

B) Me? I refuse. You are lazy! Do it yourself.

A) My stomach is upset and I’m getting sick. I’m nervous I won’t pass my test tomorrow.

B) You aren’t sick yet. Calm Down. You close the window.

A) I’ll make you coffee. Does that sound good?

B) Fine. You owe me one.

Conversations 2

A) I’m worried. I have a difficult test tonight. I am hungry and sleepy. I can’t study.

B) Did you study for the test last night?

A) A little bit. I was very busy last night.

B) Wow, you should’ve studied yesterday afternoon. That stinks.

A) I felt tired yesterday. I tossed and turned all night. I need coffee.

B) I’ll help you study for the test later. When is the test?

A) Tonight. Wow, thanks for helping me. Now, I am excited.

B) I don’t want you to flunk. I’ll see you later. We’ll study and have coffee.

Ch 7 Conversation

A) Do you see those apples stacked on the plate over there? Can I eat one?

B) Sure. Do you want a knife to cut it? Are you hungry? I have candy too.

A) No thanks. One apple is fine. Are those new shoes?

B) Yes, I buy new shoes every year.

A) How many shoes do you have?

B) I don’t know, several. Many are gone. I throw them away.

A) Oh. We should start now. We have 4 hours to finish our work.

B) Ok. We can go work at the table in the kitchen. Come on.
