Assume you work for the following company: Freeplay Energy. You can learn more about this company through its website at . Your job is to do research on potential markets.
Your manager has decided to expand company services abroad in keeping with the mission statement on the home page. Using ONLY information from the CIA World Factbook (), do research on two countries of your choice in South America/Caribbean. Your goal in doing this research is to determine which of the two countries would be best for corporate/foundation expansion.
Write a 750-1000 word report in which you do all of the following:
1. Provide a summary of the most relevant information about each country. Relevant information is information that is essential to making this decision: Should Freeplayenergy consider hiring a representative to market its services in that country? Should Freeplayenergy get involved in aid/development projects in that country? Not all information in the Factbook is relevant to answering this question but only information from the Factbook can be used.
2. Discuss – using that information as support – why each country would/would not be a good place to expand into.
3. Conclude your report with your best recommendation as to how to proceed.
In addition to this report, you should send a brief email of transmittal to the boss.
You will work with one other person to do the research for this project. However, you will each turn in a separate paper. You are expected to quote and paraphrase correctly and to show correct attribution of sources.
This report will be written in APA/corporate style and submitted in GOOGLE documents at the end of Week 5.
