ANNOUNCER OPEN

The following program, “Bless Israel with Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein,” is made possible through the prayers and blessings of friends and supporters of The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

| | |

| | |

|David James: |Ladies and gentlemen just over a year ago Israel was in the grip of Operation Protective Edge and if you remember |

| |from the news three Israeli teenager boys on their way home from school were kidnapped, murdered by terrorists and|

| |code red sirens sounded daily, signaling incoming rockets from nearby Gaza, sending terrified Israelis running for|

| |shelter. |

| | |

| |Israel would respond and send their young men off to protect Israeli citizens in what was called Operation |

| |Protective Edge. Soon after, and I remember this very well, an elaborate network of terror tunnels leading into |

| |Israel were discovered. Do you remember that? Reminding Israel and her people that threats don't just rain from |

| |the sky, but sometimes they creep into the very backyards, very backyards of Israeli families. |

| | |

| |Well here today, with Israel facing even more terrorism in the form of stabbing, shootings the violence and |

| |killing continues even at this very moment, as we have this conversation. With me to talk about all of this and |

| |how Christian's can help pray for Israel and help support God's chosen people is the Senior Vice President of the |

| |International Fellowship of Christian's and Jews, Yael (Yah-ehl) Eckstein. Yael thank you for joining us. |

| | |

|Yael Eckstein: |Thanks so much Dave for having me here. It's really an honor. |

|David James: |Well it's an honor to talk with you Yael. I know you’re here in the U.S. for a visit. Your home is in Israel with |

| |your family. |

| | |

| |And to begin, let's talk about what has taken place in Israel over the past year. How does this |

| |Israeli-Palestinian conflict against innocent Israeli citizens start? What's the latest news coming out of Israel?|

|Yael Eckstein: |Well, it's a really good question that not many people have an answer to. Violence seems to suddenly erupt in |

| |Israel and there's no real explanation for why it happens. |

| | |

| |What we do know is that you can't just start this mission of terror with five terror attacks a day without any |

| |planning. |

| | |

| |What I've learned being here in America for the past two weeks is there are certain kind of things that people say|

| |about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict out of ignorance. One of those things that people say is they say Israel's |

| |an apartheid. I always say that should be offensive to South Africans, the same way if someone doesn't do |

| |something that you want and they call you a Nazi. That's offensive. The Nazis killed over six million people. You |

| |don't just use that term lightly and that's the same thing that I look at as apartheid. In South Africa there was |

| |a real problem. It was a real, racism that Africans, blacks they were killed, they weren't allowed to use the same|

| |bathrooms, weren't allowed to drink from the same water fountain. They were not allowed in the government, not |

| |allowed to be police officers, not allowed in college. They were jailed, they were murdered, they were attacked |

| |and nobody stood up for them. |

| |Well in Israel we have a quarter of our population Israeli Arabs that serve in the Knesset, that are police |

| |officers, that have free education, free healthcare, all the same rights and benefits as Israeli Jews and so the |

| |question that you ask of how did this come to be? Well, in 1967 when Israel was attacked by all of our Arab |

| |neighbors and they said for weeks leading up to the attack we're going to wipe Israel into the sea once and for |

| |all. We're going to kill every single Jew. We're going to get rid of this Jewish nation. The Jewish problem since |

| |1948 when Israel was established, and they didn't hide it. It was weeks of leading up to this war that they were |

| |saying, we're going to attack you. We're going to wipe you out. We're going to kill you. |

| |Now, we all know (Hebrew) the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Israel miraculously won that war and|

| |I say miraculously because it was only because of miracles, the hand of God you can't deny that was a miracle. |

| |During, right before the attack in 1967 the Arab world told the Arabs living in Israel, leave. Leave your homes, |

| |let us take care of the Jewish problem here on this land and then go back to your homes. That's where we get the |

| |refugees from. These people that on their own will left their homes waiting for the Jews to be killed. Now there |

| |were some Arabs who stayed. They didn't leave their homes like all of the Arab leaders told them to, and after |

| |Israel won the war the whole world was looking at Israel. What are they going to do with these Arabs that stayed? |

| |The only two options that the world thought were available was one, Israel is going to massacre them just like the|

| |Arab world said they were going to do to the Jewish people. |

|David James: |Yeah, kind of like a payback. |

|Yael Eckstein: |Exactly, or they were going to exile them. Send them out to Jordan, to Syria, to Egypt, to any of the other |

| |countries where they could go and live. Israel instead gave them citizenship. They said now we are going to have |

| |this concept of Israeli Arabs. You're going to be integrated into our society. We're going to welcome you in with |

| |open arms. We're going to show you what justice is, what righteousness is, what Godliness is, holiness. That we're|

| |not going to kill you, we're not going to kick you out of your homes. You can have your homes, you could have an |

| |Israeli ID card, a passport, you could have all the benefits from the government of free education and free |

| |healthcare for your kids. Israel's main incentive in that was that we would have peace with our neighbors. Since |

| |1948 every single step we've taken was with the goal of bringing the Middle East and specifically Israel to a |

| |place of peace. |

| |Unfortunately, what we're seeing today is that many of these terror attacks being committed, four, five, six times|

| |a day are by Israeli Arabs, the children of those people who we gave citizenship to in 1967. |

|David James: |Had all the rights of a citizen, that were given. |

|Yael Eckstein: |Exactly. |

|David James: |It's like the next generation that's making this happen. |

|Yael Eckstein: |It's terrifying because it's also, going back to the whole concept of apartheid, you know, that you go into any of|

| |Israel's neighbors, any of those countries surrounding Israel and you won't find one Jewish person. In fact even |

| |when you go into certain parts of the West Bank, that's technically under Israel's control, there are signs that |

| |say any Jewish person or Israeli passport holder, it's illegal for them to enter, it's a danger to their life. You|

| |won't find a Jewish person in these Arab countries. Yet when you walk through Israel, there's not one city that |

| |you'll go to that you won't see Muslims openly walking around. Wearing the Muslim garb, that's actually illegal in|

| |many parts of Europe, but in Israel it's legal. You'll hear the Islamic call for prayer over the loud intercoms |

| |and actually where my father Rabbi Eckstein lives in Talpiot in Jerusalem, it's very close to an Arab city, and so|

| |every morning at five in the morning he's woken up by this Muslim call for prayer. He always says, this is a |

| |freedom that even in America they wouldn't allow. |

| | |

|Yael Eckstein: |So, the freedoms that you see in Israel are huge for Jews and Christians and Muslims and it's something that we do|

| |because we believe in it. We believe that we have a responsibility. This is a holy land and God has given it to us|

| |to control right now and we have to rule in a righteous way. |

| | |

| |When sirens in Israel sound warnings of an imminent terrorist rocket attack, Israelis have less than 17 seconds to|

| |find a nearby bomb shelter. But there aren’t enough shelters to provide the needed protection for everyone. The |

| |Fellowship needs your help to build more of these bomb shelters. |

| | |

| |With your gift today of $150, a portion of your donation will go toward building and renovating much needed bomb |

| |shelters so Israeli families can be safe and have a secure place to seek shelter during times of terrorist rocket |

| |attacks. |

| | |

| |In every bomb shelter The Fellowship builds and renovates, a sign is placed above the front door of the shelter |

| |that reads, “Donated with Love from Christians in America.” |

| | |

|David James: |My name is David James, we're talking to Yael Eckstein. She is the Senior Vice President of International |

| |Fellowship of Christians and Jews and we're discussing what is going on right now in current events. |

| | |

| |Those attacks Yael, they're not just taking place in Gaza, they're happening in small quiet towns in Israel. Parks|

| |where children play. |

| | |

| |And I understand this hit really home for you because one of your children came home from school and said that the|

| |school was on lock down. |

|Yael Eckstein: |Yeah there's nobody in Israel that's not affected. That you could read about the numbers of people killed on each |

| |side and I always say, this isn't a basketball game. The way that the news reports it. There is so much more |

| |behind this and you can't compare an innocent person being killed to a terrorist being shot in the middle of |

| |committing a terrorist act. It's something that I tried to a long time to hide my children from the reality of |

| |Israel. |

|David James: |They're young. |

|Yael Eckstein: |They're young. My oldest is nine years old, my youngest is three and a half yet they've already been through a |

| |war. We had to hide in the stairwell as code red sirens were going off and rockets were being launched. A week and|

| |a half ago there was a terror attack right by my city and my daughter came home two days later and said, we were |

| |on lock down today. It was middle of recess and then they thought they saw terrorists outside the school so we had|

| |to run into our classroom and lock the door. We had to wait there until the police came and said that it wasn't a |

| |terrorist. It's something that's heartbreaking, not only that the children's innocence is taken from them but that|

| |they know they're targeted for being Jews. That's it. |

| |That you can't be with them every second and in fact, I was just talking today with somebody about how right now |

| |what they're using are the fear tactics. Our enemies have gone through a lot of different ways of trying to |

| |destroy us. They tried militarily and saw that God will not allow that. They've tried with lots of propaganda. Now|

| |what they're using is fear. That they're targeting exactly like you said Dave these small communities. They're |

| |targeting children, they're targeting elderly. A two year old was shot. An eighty year old woman was stabbed. Two |

| |parents were murdered in front of their four children. |

| |And so, the people of Israel realize how dangerous that is, to live in fear and so every single time there is a |

| |terrorist attack, within twenty four hours all of the local schools get together and bring the children to the |

| |scene of the terror attack to sing, to dance, to read psalms and to show the world that we're, we're not afraid. |

| |We're not going to be scared away. We have hope, we have prayers, we have faith and this is where we're going to |

| |stay. |

|David James: |I found it really daunting and shocking that you mentioned that this is happening and the crime is only because |

| |they're Jewish. I mean, in Israel this is happening and the crime quote unquote that's being given is because |

| |you're Jewish this is happening. It's not anything else. It's this. |

|Yael Eckstein: |That's exactly it because, you see, if I may be unpolitically correct for a moment- |

|David James: |Please, please, no. Fine. |

|Yael Eckstein: |The Western world loves to attribute all of the problems to Israel settlement building. For the terrorists, they |

| |don't distinguish between settlements or central Israel. That's what I think this wave of terror is showing the |

| |world. It doesn't have to do with settlements. The attacks aren't in the settlements. They're not against the |

| |soldiers. This isn't something about rational politics. This is straight terror. The same thing as ISIS, the same |

| |thing as Al Qaeda. They're targeting innocent people without any reason except for you're not an Islamic |

| |extremist. |

| |That's why we're seeing in Tel Aviv, in Petah Tikva, in Netanya, Hadera, these cities that aren't controversial, |

| |no one says the Jewish people will eventually leave there, they're not the settlements. |

|David James: |Yael you mentioned that these attacks with your own children, but the Fellowship staff too, the workers, first |

| |responders, tell us the story. I heard that one of your staff saved a little boy’s life? |

|Yael Eckstein: |I think every staff member has their own story just from the past two weeks. We have some amazing stories coming |

| |out just of how every day civilians turn into heroes in one second. We had one of our Fellowship employees that |

| |left the office to go get her child from kindergarten She was on the way home and she stopped off to speak to a |

| |friend and right in front of her a terror attack took place. There was a thirteen year old boy that was stabbed |

| |numerous times. And she was the one that went and she found a rag and she wrapped it around his body where he was |

| |stabbed and when the first responders got there and they took him to the hospital and she got a phone call later |

| |that night that she added on a few minutes to him surviving until they got there. That because of her, he |

| |survived. |

|David James: |That's amazing. Absolutely amazing. Right there just picking up her, you said kindergartner and she became a hero |

| |at that point. |

|Yael Eckstein: |She went right after to pick her kindergartner shaking and she didn't even realize that the teacher opened the |

| |door and said you're covered in blood, you're shaking. What happened? That this is the reality. |

| | |

| | |

| |ANNOUNCER ASK #2 |

| | |

| |Seventeen seconds … |

| | |

| |That is exactly what precious time Jewish families in Israel have to get to a nearby bomb shelter after a siren |

| |sounds. |

| | |

| |It's hard to imagine the idea of sending your kids off to school and worrying that there could be a terrorist |

| |rocket attack at any moment. In Israel it is a daily reality. |

| | |

| |Today we’ve been sharing with you about The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews’ Guardians of Israel |

| |program. |

| | |

| |Israeli children, families and the elderly depend on The Fellowship during times of crisis for emergency supplies |

| |including food, medical care, evacuation assistance and a safe place to shelter. |

| | |

| |We’re able to provide this type of help to thousands of Jewish families because of the generous prayers and |

| |financial support from Christians like you through the Guardians of Israel program. |

| | |

| |But there many Jewish families throughout Israel that we need to reach today! |

| |program. |

| | |

| | |

| | |

| |(David James) My name is David James, we're talking to Yael Eckstein. She is the Senior Vice President of |

| |International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and |

| |what does it say to you when Israel and her people, a nation that just wants to live in peace and happiness, just |

| |wants to live in peace, and then violently attacked just because as we were talking about, you're Jewish for not |

| |other reason, yet it seems that most of the world just doesn't care. How does that make you feel? |

|Yael Eckstein: |I think it's even worse than not caring. The world is calling Israel barbaric for shooting a terrorist who has a |

| |knife in an eighty year old woman's neck. That Israel's barbaric for shooting that terrorist, not that the |

| |terrorist is barbaric for stabbing an eighty year old woman or shooting a two year old. That even worse than not |

| |caring, they're not recognizing the need for us to protect ourselves. |

| |I'll tell you Dave, this isn't anything new. This is Amalek as we read about in the Bible, dressed up in different|

| |clothes, and this is anti-Semitism that the Jewish people have seen for so many generations just with a new |

| |generation with new words, and I just want to shake the world and say wake up, we've seen this before. God has |

| |tested us with this already. We are supposed to be beyond this and that's why it's amazing to see how many |

| |Christians are standing with Israel. |

|David James: |I was going to mention that. You know, The Fellowship of Christians and Jews not standing idly by. Fellowship |

| |first responders as you were just talking about and yet millions of Christians across the country are standing by |

| |the people of Israel. Where we're praying with you, that God's going to protect you which he has done, but your |

| |people are living in fear Yael and so the question is, for that person listening right now who wants to help, what|

| |can we do to stand side by side with our wonderful Jewish friends and family and neighbors. |

| |I mean Fellowship of Christians and Jews, we're united. We have a common bond and if sometimes we think to |

| |ourselves, what is it we can do? God this problem is too much bigger, it's bigger than me. What is it we can do to|

| |help? |

|Yael Eckstein: |That's exactly why The Fellowship is here. We take the individual voices of millions of Christians and unite them |

| |into one loud, strong powerful voice for Israel. |

| | |

| |We're the largest philanthropic organization in Israel. From donations, our average gift is $50. That we take an |

| |elderly woman who tithes from her social security to Israel and a single mother who tithes from her paycheck to |

| |Israel. And we enable those people, individuals who otherwise wouldn't have a voice to be heard loud and clear in |

| |Israel. I stand with Israel and the Jewish people. |

| |The Fellowship has really made it mainstream in Israel. Sometimes even more than Jewish people abroad, Christians |

| |stand with Israel. That the loudest voice these days in support and love and prayers for Israel sadly is not the |

| |Jewish community it's the Christian community, and that's also because there's more in numbers. That the Jewish |

| |community is small. How much noise could the Jewish community make with ten million people? |

| |The Christian community united across the world could make a very very strong voice and so I encourage anyone who |

| |wants to get involved to pray. We could add you to our prayer list. You can visit . |

|David James: |Say that one more time. |

|Yael Eckstein: | and there you can also learn about the biblical roots of Christianity, the holidays that Jesus |

| |celebrated and you could also get involved in tangibly standing with Israel. We also have a phone number if over |

| |the phone you wanted to call and make a donation. The number is 855-GUARD-92. That's 855-482-7392. |

| | |

| |ANNOUNCER ASK #3 |

| | |

| |Imagine being so afraid that you cannot leave your room, even to go to your kitchen or bathroom. Imagine having |

| |children, and being unable to take care of them because you are paralyzed with fear. |

| | |

| |This was Shiri’s situation. The terrorist rocket that ripped apart her home in Israel left her with minor physical|

| |injuries. But the psychological trauma was devastating. Local medical teams did their best to treat her, but |

| |Shiri’s condition only got worse. |

| | |

| |But thanks to Christians like you, and your prayers and financial support of The Fellowship’s Guardians of |

| |Israel program, we were able to give Shiri help when no one else could. A Trauma and Crisis Center funded by |

| |the Guardians of Israel program provided Shiri with a newly developed medication. Her condition improved |

| |dramatically, and her fears and sleeplessness were replaced by a sense of peace. She once again felt confident in |

| |her ability to care for her children. |

| | |

| |Here at the end of our program today, this is our last opportunity to invite you to become a partner in The |

| |Fellowship’s Guardians of Israel program that we’ve been talking about on our program today. Your help is needed |

| |especially right now, when terrorism in Israel is on the rise. |

| | |

| |Your generous gift of $150 will help provide food, medicine, medical care, bomb shelters and other basic |

| |essentials to a family in distress, a child, even an elderly Jewish Holocaust survivor. When terrorists attack, no|

| |one is safe. But you can help give hope, comfort and safety to God’s chosen people with one phone call by joining |

| |The Fellowship’s Guardians of Israel program today. |

| | |

| |The special phone number for you to call is 855-GUARD-92. That’s 855-GUARD-92. Your one-time tax deductible |

| |donation of $150 will be put toward immediate aid. |

| | |

| |That number once again is 855-GUARD-92, 855-GUARD-92. Or numerically, 855-482-7392. That’s 855 482-7392. |

| | |

| |Thank you for your gift and for standing with Israel. |

| | |

| |May the God of Israel bless you and your family for your generous blessing today. |

| | |

|David James |You know, some of our listeners might not know that the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, hundreds |

| |of projects all through the holy land. Takes hours to talk about all those, but the incredible work you're doing, |

| |share with us the specific projects and ways that people can help again in that giving upward, up to a thousand |

| |dollars some of the victims of the attacks that's been going on. Share a little bit of that. |

|Yael Eckstein: |Yeah well what we recognized is during times of peace we prepare for war. We build the bomb shelters that people |

| |will use during the war and the Fellowship is across Israel and specifically on the borders preparing all the |

| |needs to keep the people safe when war strikes. |

| |When there is war, during war and times of terror like we're seeing right now, we're on the ground working with |

| |prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Minister of Defense and every single mayor asking them what are the largest|

| |most urgent needs right now. |

| |What we learned is that Israel does take care of the victims of terror but it takes a few weeks, sometimes a few |

| |months until the paperwork goes through that they are recognized as victims of terror. For those first few months |

| |they don't have money to cover their bills for the medicine they need, for the cabs they need to take to get to |

| |the hospital, for their family to buy food, for the time off of work. They didn't wake up in the morning and say |

| |hey I should prepare for being a victim of terror. It strikes out of nowhere, completely unprepared. |

| | |

| |You see there's no national food program in Israel. Like in America you have food cards so if you're poor and |

| |can't afford the basics at least you'll have food. There's no national food program like that in Israel and so the|

| |Fellowship has that for the elderly. For the Holocaust survivors. We bring 15,000 poor elderly food on a weekly |

| |basis. That's Israel's national food security plan. |

| |For the victims of terror, within twenty four hours we're going to the hospital and handing them a check for a |

| |thousand dollars. We're saying don't worry about the finances right now. Christians in America stand with you. |

|Yael Eckstein: |God promised in Genesis twelve, I will bless those who bless Israel. It’s hard to understand how by giving we're |

| |actually receiving not only in a spiritual but even in a physical way. The way that I always look at it is like a |

| |candle. That a candle could light another candle while still keeping its own flame, and with that one candle you |

| |could light thousands of candles and light up the darkest room. |

| |That's what The Fellowship is doing with the help of Christians around the world, specifically in America. |

| |Lighting up that darkness of the anti-Israel, Antisemitism that through these gifts it's not only money. It's |

| |hope, it's a message. The people of Israel are not alone and for the first time in history we have friends and |

| |those Christian friends are loyal and standing by our side. |

|David James: |That's the question I pose to our audience right now. Will you invest in a Jewish family who is having tragedy all|

| |around them and to their very own family having lives ripped apart or even lives that are being changed because of|

| |serious injury? |

| | |

| |****DAVID JAMES ASK*** |

| |The phone number again is 855-GUARD-92, 855-482-7392. Remember when we see the headlines, we watch the news, we |

| |don't just lift our hands up and cry out to God, what is it that I can do? There's something you have done by |

| |investing into a Jewish family's life through International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Again it's |

| |855-GUARD92, 855-482-7392. |

| | |

| |Yael thank you so much for being with us here with International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and for what |

| |you're doing and your kids. You've got to give them a hug for us and say hello to your dad. He's a hero to me. |
