Make tobacco a focus of your agency’s messaging by developing a media plan.

Goal: disseminate information about tobacco use in PLWH, how to quit, staying healthy, TTS services offered by your agency, Support group information, local resources and Michigan Tobacco Quitline information.

Media can be done around certain days and may include:

LGBT History Month: October

National Coming Out Day: October 11

Great American: Smokeout: Nov 16, 2017

World AIDS Day: December 1

New Year’s Day: January 1

Through W/ Chew Week: 3rd full week in February

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day: Feb 7

Kick Butts Day: 2018 to be determined

National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day: April 10

National Transgender HIV Testing Day: April 18

Earth Day: April 22

World No Tobacco Day: May 31

National HIV Testing Day: June 27

PRIDE season: May- August
