What You Need to Know

A county code is a two-digit number used to identify a particular county. The chart below lists the codes that have been designated by Maryland for each county and Baltimore City.

The county code is used as prefix to create the MDE Property Number which is required to be written on the on MDE Form 330 (Lead Paint Risk Reduction Certificate) and coordinating forms. The code is to be inserted in front of the Account Identifier number, which is assigned by the MD Department of Assessments and Taxation for each property. The Account Identifier number can be found using their free online Real Property Search data-base.
