New Board Members Announced

The Board would like to extend a warm welcome to its newest members:

Iyna Ruth Adams, OTR/L, CPAM, who replaced Claudia McInerney;

Meenakshi Gupta, Consumer Member, who replaced Thaddeus Meade Felton; and

Jocelind Julien, Consumer Member, who filled the open consumer member position.

The Board thanks Ms. McInerney and Mr. Felton for their commitment and dedication to the Board and the invaluable services that they provided to the citizens of the State of Maryland.

Blue and White Licenses

The Board office has experienced an increase in duplicate license requests with the reason cited by the requestor being: misplacement. Please be reminded that it is the licensee’s responsibility to maintain his/her occupational therapy license in a secure location.

Recordkeeping

A. Continuing Competency Programs and Activities Reference Guide

The Board revised the numerous formats in which continuing education credit may be earned. New to the list are volunteer services, mentoring, poster presentations, guest lecturer, auditing, professional study group participation, jurisprudence exam completion, and fellowship training. These formats are outlined in detail in the Continuing Competency Programs and Activities Reference Guide. The guide can be downloaded in Word or PDF format by visiting and selecting Continuing Education. The link is at the bottom of the page.

B. Continuing Competency Requirement Compliance Report

This form was designed to aid the licensees in organizing and tracking their continuing education compliance. These forms were mailed with your renewed license. Additional forms, in Word and PDF formats, can be found by visiting and selecting Continuing Education. The link is at the bottom of the page.

C. PAMS Log

A downloadable log is available on our website to record your PAM’s activity, i.e., didactic education and patient treatments. This form can be found at and selecting Continuing Education. The link is at the bottom of the page.

Licensees must retain supporting documents for inspection by the Board for 4 years after the date of licensure, renewal or reinstatement. PAM’s documentation should never be discarded.

Failure to Notify the Board of an Address Change

Licensees should notify the Board of an address change within 30 days of the change. Per COMAR 10.46.01.03 I (2), failure to notify the board could result in an assessment of a penalty fee in the amount of $50. So, notify the Board as soon as you relocate. The Board will begin assessing the penalty fee on October 1, 2008.
