Electrical Safety Education ModuleGrades: 3-5 (45-60 minutes)Overview: This presentation will teach students about the power of electricity as well as cover some key components of how to stay safe around electricity, both indoors and outdoors. Designed for one class at a time, the activities include class discussions and a live safety demonstration of the do’s and don’ts around power lines. Participating students will receive a safety hat and certificate of completion. Space Requirements: An eight-foot space near an electric plug is required.Preparation Materials: We have compiled free resources that can help you and your students prepare for this presentation. Prior to the demonstration, Emerald recommends having students view each of the 5 short videos and using the Teacher’s Discussion Guide & Study Sheets with your class.
