This important initiative identifies highly effective administrators aspiring to become principals and provides professional development and internship experience to prepare them to lead one of Baltimore County’s extraordinary schools. The program provides the opportunity for host schools to learn and benefit from talented leaders with unique skills and experiences from across the county.Pikesville Middle School has been selected as an internship site for one of the county’s emerging leaders in this program. Mrs. Amanda Shanks will join the PMS family on Monday, February 4, 2019 and serve as an Associate Principal for one month. During this experience, Mrs. Shanks will lead targeted initiatives aligned to our mission and vision. With the support of PMS’s faculty and staff, she will also lead the daily operations of the school from Tuesday, February 19, 2019 until the conclusion of her internship on Friday, March 1, 2019. Mrs. Shanks joins us from Perry Hall Middle School where she has served as an assistant principal for the last three years. Mrs. Shanks first entered the field of education as an English teacher and continues to support students, teachers and communities in realizing their greatest potential. Mrs. Shanks is a graduate of Towson and Loyola Universities, with 20 years of experience in Baltimore County Public Schools serving grades 6-12.
