Marine to Police Officer...

Following up with our Veteran's Day celebrations, the seventh and eighth graders had a special visitor come talk to them. Elgin Police department's Deputy Chief Al Young came to speak to both classes. He discussed with them his experiences in the Marine Corps, how that led him to where he is now, and what it is like to be a veteran. The students really enjoyed his stories!

STM's Cookiepalooza

This week third graders did a S.T.E.M. science experiment with cookies! They tested four different kinds of cookies density using milk. It was an educational and delicious experiment.

Dear STM families, The winter weather is truly upon us. Please be sure that your child comes dressed appropriately for the weather everyday as we continue to go outside for recess. This Saturday, Dec. 8th, is our Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot. Please see the flyer attached to the newsletter for more information. This coming Tuesday, Dec. 11th, is the annual Christmas Band Concert being held at St. John's Lutheran School. We hope you can come out to hear some beautiful Christmas music! This coming Thursday, Dec. 13th, is a Spirit Wear Day here at STM. Please have your kids come showing some school pride! There are so many marvelous things that go on in the school that the newsletter cannot cover it all.
