Central Dauphin Middle SchoolNational Junior Honor Society Candidate FormCongratulations! Your academic achievement of having a cumulative grade point average of a 89% (not rounded) or higher makes you a candidate for acceptance into the CDMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). The NJHS is an organization that recognizes not only academic achievement, but also other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The purpose of the NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote leadership, develop character and encourage citizenship. Acceptance into the NJHS is an honor reserved for the best all-around students at Central Dauphin Middle School. We examine not only your grades but your attendance and behavior records as well. If you feel that you meet these qualifications and those described below, please complete the attached form and return it to the Dr. Smith in Room 506 NO LATER THAN April 29th at 2:50 pm. All 7th graders seeking new membership are required to complete the form. Students will be selected by the NJHS Faculty Council for membership based on their strength in all of the areas highlighted above and described below. The applicants’ current school year core teachers will be asked for feedback regarding their academic and behavioral performances.Students will be notified in writing of their selection for induction into the Central Dauphin Middle School National Junior Honor Society.
