NEW INN SURGERY UPDATE Following the recent temporary closure of New Inn Branch Surgery due to a covid-19 outbreak we are pleased to announce that the surgery is now back open, however we are still not back to full staffing levels due to sickness and the re-introduction of shielding?so please bear with us during this difficult time for us all. NEW INN PATIENTS SHOULD PRESS OPTION 2 when phoning the surgery, otherwise the phone lines at the Mount will be overwhelmed with calls and it will increase the delay in you getting through, especially during peak periods. During normal New Inn working hours New Inn Surgery is back open so please press option 2 when phoning if you are a New Inn Patient. We are aware that many New Inn patients started pressing option 1 routinely during the time New Inn was closed. Please go back to pressing option 2 and hopefully this will take pressure off the phone lines for everyone. We are aware that there will still be times when the demand to phone the surgery will still overwhelm the phone lines. This is particularly a problem during the covid pandemic due to the huge increase in telephone usage as a result of the change in the way the practice is required to work. The surgery is not an emergency service and in an emergency you should ring 999. If it’s not an emergency and you unsure what health advice you need you can also phone 111 or go to their website will advise you whether you need to contact your GP or another health provider.COVID-19 Vaccine UPDATEA lot of people are asking us when?they?will be able to have their vaccine. Currently ABUHB (Aneurin Bevan University Health Board) are controlling all 'Pfizer vaccine' clinics centrally. We have not been given any vaccines to give out at?the practice and we cannot book our patients into clinics.?The health board will?contact people when they are able to have their vaccine and are already vaccinating care home patients and staff?together with front line NHS workers.?There is now good news regarding the 'Oxford vaccine' : we do not have a date as to when we will be given supplies of this vaccine as yet, so please don't contact us asking for it until we advise otherwise. A weekly ABUHB covid vaccine update is available: SURGERY NEWSWe now fit coils/intrauterine contraceptive devices and contraceptive implants at the surgery - please telephone reception for more informationWebsite update: Look under 'Further Information' - in blue banner at bottom of our home page for useful support links for various conditionsOfficial NHS Wales self-management apps to support people living with asthma or COPD Symptom Study: help slow the spread of the virus recruiting yourself in UK wide Covid-19 treatment study:or click on link ..
