OCTOBER 2019 BULLETIN VALUE POINT : DEVOTION6Dear Students,The rich and vibrant festivals of India are a testimony to our diverse tradition and culture. Our age-old traditions have gifted the country with the various festivals and fairs. These festivals educate us about our cultural and spiritual heritage and teach us to live in harmony with all the other religions, respecting their values, bringing people closer and creating a strong bond of humanity.Month of October is embellished with religious festivals: Dussehra/ Durga Puja, a festival that is majorly celebrated in Western India. It celebrates the victory of good over evil, It is also kn own as Navratri and celebrated over a period of 9 nights and Diwali, the festival of lights is the most important festival in Hindu culture. It is celebrated with lots of pomp and enthusiasm and is known to bring wealth and prosperity to individuals and homes. We celebrate our National Festival Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October each year to mark the birth of Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi , Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu, as he is fondly called by Indians. He was the greatest motivator and independence campaigner of his times. His unique ability to connect with the poor made him a mass leader of India and world.
