Where, What, and How: I've always believed in the mantra of, `Getting Better Every Day.' I've spent the last 41 years on a coaching journey to understand how to help different individuals accelerate their learning of the motor sport - Golf. Over the last four decades, I've researched all manner of golf instruction, coaching, cross-training, including past and present popular swing theories, methods, systems, and specific philosophies from all of the great teachers of the game. Through my constant study, I've developed my own coaching philosophy and teaching methodology that, while my principles are based in science, the information delivered is not complex. It is centered around two foundational beliefs: 1) Individual Instruction: I use a systematic approach to learning vs. using a `one size fits all' teaching method/system. I strive to clarify key game/swing concepts as they pertain to your game. This eliminates confusion so you can then begin to `know/feel' what you should be doing rather than consciously directing your actions during a physical movement that takes less than two seconds. 2) FUN! Discovering how to enjoy developing your skills to play the game while you pursue your golfing goals (whether for pure recreation or high-level competition) is pivotal. The more fun you are having, the more time you will spend in the process of learning. Within that framework as well as full consideration for your individual body type, physical abilities, and your available time to practice, we will work together to help you play the best golf of your life. Depending on your needs and the lesson objectives, I use the world's best assessment technology in the TRACKMAN ball flight monitor, as well as Coach My Video/ JC Video/V1 Software Systems, share video's of your swing taken with Apple iPad's and camera's w/ high-speed video and utilize literally dozens of training aids when applicable. Lessons are given within a private teaching area on the Duke University practice range. Lessons may be arranged by calling 919.681.6161 for individual scheduling.
