Project Task: Due Monday 26th August 2019Design and create a Renewable energy generator, that converts energy from your chosen source (Wind, Solar or Hydroelectricity) to electricity in your home. This generator will be apart of you also designing the type of house and property it will be on. (Farm, City, Apartment, House by the beach etc) Australia Only.Research the benefits and limitations of your energy source, to back up why your generator works. You will need to present this to Mr Wren-Pattison, Miss Sanli and class mates as if you are selling this as a new product, in the form of an oral and poster presentation.Check ListPhaseProject StepsLesson OneInvestigation(In class)Select one source of Renewable energy and identify where the source comes from. For example: The Sun, wind or Hydroelectricity.Research using the links provided on Weebly and any other relevant sources of information, on the limitations and benefits of this type of energy. Research and identify three to five steps of the generating process of your chosen energy source. This includes labelling the parts of a generator such as the turbine, Generator box, and AC and DC electric conversion.Research any already built home generators that people have legitimately and scientifically constructed their Renewable electricity.Lesson TwoDesign, Plan and Construct.(In class)Design your generator using a diagram (your choice)Illustrate the home located in Australia. (Include Label Location)This includes the houses style property dimensions natural/man made features. How it will be connected to the home Where it is coming from to generate electricity.Begin to create a materials list, to make your generator. This will be just the Renewable energy part, we are not building the house.Refer to the videos on the Weebly for guidance and any other links you use. There is to be no need for wires or motors, I would like to see how the source itself powers the generators.Hand your list into Miss Sanli. Some basic Materials used will be provided by Miss Sanli, if you wish to add more, it can be taken home to finish after the lesson to be finalised for the next lesson.Ensure to keep in mind your limitations and benefits of your sources as well as your house and property design throughout this construction process.Lesson Two Construct (At Home)Continue or begin to construct your generatorIf you have changed materials since the Design phase, write a new materials list in your book.Prepare a short explanation speech. No longer than 30 seconds and brief. Justify your choices making the generator, understanding the process of conversion.Lesson ThreeEvaluate and Refine(In class)Refine it in class for the first 15 Minutes of the lesson. Miss Sanli and Mr WP will come around and take a photo of your progressed model. After this it will be on your own time until next lesson to be completed and brought in for Lesson Four. (Monday Week Six)Design and create an advertising poster selling your generator. This can be done using either or both Illustration and Digital technology. Write up an advertising speech for your generator including the 30 second justification you wrote previously. This can be up to 1 minutes 30 seconds long, to persuade Miss Sanli and Mr Wren – Pattison to buy it.This will be presented in front of the class, with your model beside you on the display table. You may use prompt cards to help you present. Lesson Four:Presentation(In class)Persuasive: Advertising speechEnsure you use your best public speaking skills:Eye contact.Loud and clear voice.Standing still and not fidgeting.Speech maybe written down and referred to during presentation.Poster: A4 (Digital and/or Illustrated) Includes a diagram of your Renewable energy source model. (Part or whole diagram)Your speech incorporated into the poster. Bright and eye catchy design, yet clear and simple to read. (limit to 50 words) Advertised towards an appropriate audience.Small summary on the price and installation process or contact details for these!
