With over three decades of experience in hospitality management, Cox brings a diverse operational expertise from all facets of the hotel industry to his new role. “It is an absolute pleasure to introduce this new property to the tech-forward San Francisco Bay Area,” says Cox. “We are looking forward to offering our guests an experience that pays respect to the city’s rich past and looks forward to what’s to come next.” Cox began his career in hospitality at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida and went on to spend thirteen years at Hyatt working various management positions at the company’s different locations. He then went on to join the teams at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort and the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando before becoming a hospitality consultant in 2013. While consulting, Cox had the chance to work with properties including the Embassy Suites Baltimore, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, and Hard Rock Hotel Cancun. It was as a consultant that he became introduced to Kokua Hospitality and went on to take the General Manager role of their newest project. As a forerunner in the hospitality industry’s evolvements in technology, Cox was a member of the Loews Technology Task Force where his team created a new technology vision for Loews Hotels, including a new front office experience.
