Interior Design: Foundation Level

This foundation level certificate provides beginners with a fundamental education in the field of interior architecture. It is the only

program in the nation leading to a Master of Interior Architecture degree that is offered on a continuing education basis.

Total Units: 82

The Interior Design: Foundation Level certificate consists of 18 courses. Students are encouraged to follow

the quarterly curriculum sequence outlined below in order to efficiently progress through the program.

Completion time: 1.5 years/6 quarters (full-time) or at your own pace (part-time)

Program Requirements

Establishing candidacy is required for all certificate students. Domestic students may take up to five courses before establishing candidacy.

International students must establish candidacy prior to starting the program, and must complete a minimum of 12 units per quarter.

In order to earn the Interior Design: Foundation Level certificate, all 18 courses must be completed with a recorded letter grade.

The pass/no pass grading option is not permitted. A minimum GPA of 2.0 must be earned in order to fulfill the certificate requirement.

In order to be considered for the Master of Interior Architecture degree program, a minimum GPA of 3.0 must be earned. Bachelor¡¯s degree

required.
