|JOB SUMMARY |

|The RN Program Director – Wound Healing Services provides administrative and strategic leadership for wound healing services, including design, implementation, and |

|management of a comprehensive clinical, operational, and financial framework across the system of care. The Program Director collaborates with administrative leadership|

|across multiple services, including ambulatory, inpatient, post-acute, and home health services to execute a cohesive strategy that aligns with the UW Health mission, |

|strategic plan, and operational priorities related to wound healing services. |

| |

|Responsibilities of the Program Director include: leadership and accountability for Wound Healing Services programming across the inpatient and ambulatory sites of care|

|at UW Health and the system of care, direct management and supervision of the wound, ostomy, and continence RN team, collaboration with operational leadership to |

|provide expertise and guidance for inpatient and outpatient wound services, and development, monitoring, and acting upon clinical, financial, and operational metrics |

|designed to continuously improve service delivery. The Program Director will also regularly research and maintain expert knowledge of the latest evidence-based advances|

|in wound healing services and novel approaches to wound care, disseminating information across the care team. The individual in this role will analyze current and |

|future growth trends in the clinical service and propose or revise programming to optimally position UW Health and the system of care to meet the needs of the patient |

|population. Additionally, the Program Director will collaborate cross functionally with business and clinical leaders and staff to develop business plans, impact |

|analyses, workforce plans, and other tools in support of program growth and success and to improve the clinical, operational, and financial outcomes of the program. |

|MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES |

|Administrative Leader |

|Continually assesses all services, identifies problems, and utilizes data to analyze and propose innovative approaches for solutions. |

|Engages staff and other stakeholders in continuous improvement of systems and processes; manages resources for staff participation in improvement work activities. |

|Remains current of new trends and best practices and incorporates into Wound Healing Services programs. |

|Assesses, develops, and implements evidence-based and current standards for quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care related to wound healing services. |

|Develops, implements, and monitors innovative systems and processes that improve staff and patient quality and safety. |

|Develops and implements program and clinical outcome measures for quality improvement, cost and complication reduction, and the implementation of evidence-based |

|medicine. |

|Manages complex interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships (e.g., with physicians, academic clinical department leaders, administrators, etc.) to assure |

|collaboration and effective/efficient operations within Wound Healing Services Program and coordination with other UW Health programs. |

|Promotes growth and development of Wound Healing Services across the UW Health enterprise including partnerships, future satellite sites, and telemedicine. |

|Financial and Resource Management |

|Assesses, develops, and monitors opportunities for wound healing services in the local, regional, and national market in partnership with business planning processes. |

|Establishes annual financial goals and actively uses benchmarking with high performing systems in similar areas of expertise to set annual targets. |

|Establishes and monitors an annual operating and capital budget, demonstrating fiscal responsibility through meeting budget targets. Actively seeks opportunities to |

|improve financial outcomes, engaging staff in the process. |

|Provides guidance to effectively allocate resources based on patient volume, space availability, budget constraints, program priorities, and goals and objectives |

|related to wound healing services. |

|Researches industry best practices and recommends process improvements to leadership. |

|Develops specialist referral contacts. |

| |

|Education/Research Facilitator |

|Facilitates and supports involvement in research projects, analysis, and distribution of findings. Facilitates protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, |

|and analysis. |

|Assesses and appropriately engages with innovative wound and skin markets to improve cost, quality, and outcomes for patients while simultaneously extending academic |

|mission and innovative spirit. |

|Oversees development of patient brochures and educational material related to wound healing services. |

| |

|JOB REQUIREMENTS |

|Education |Minimum |Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) degree |

| | |Masters of Science in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field |

| |Preferred |Masters of Science – Nursing (MSN) degree |

|Work Experience |Minimum |Two (2) years of inpatient or outpatient clinical wound care experience or administration of wound |

| | |services/programs |

| | |Two (2) years of leadership experience |

| |Preferred |Experience in clinical operations, managing clinical programs and services, and/or program development |

|Licenses & Certifications |Minimum |Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin |

| |Preferred |Certification in wound care or eligible for certification |
