 Kings and Queens Scholarship Ball Application The Kings and Queens Scholarship Ball was founded by the African American Psychology Student Organization (AAPSO) and the Nu Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at Wayne State University. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize four minority students for their commitment to demonstrating excellence through academia and within the community. Directions: Please fill out the application thoroughly and only answer the questions that pertain to you. All applications must be filled out completely and submitted in a Word/PDF document to aapso@wayne.edu by Sunday, March 8th, 2020 by 11:59pm. Late, duplicate, and incomplete applications will not be accepted. All applications must be submitted with transcripts, proof of community service/involvement, and a letter of Recommendation in ONE email submission. Multiple attachments within one email is allowed and preferred. Undergraduate freshmen must provide their high school transcripts and utilize their outgoing GPA in order to be considered if they do not have a cumulative GPA in college yet. Failure to provide those items will automatically disqualify your application.Applicants who do not meet the requirements will not be considered. Applicants MUST be able to attend the ball in order to receive the scholarship. Letter Of Recommendation Along with your application materials, there should be only ONE letter of recommendation included. The letter should be written by a professional reference such as a teacher, academic advisor, coach, employer, or volunteer coordinator.Within your recommendation letter, the reference should specifically state your full name and who they are in relation to you. The reference should explicitly state why you would be a good candidate for the Kings and Queens Scholarship and how you have made a difference/encouraged the advancement of minorities in your community or school. As an applicant, you should submit this reference letter with the other application materials. DO NOT have your reference personally contact or submit a letter on your behalf, failure to do so will result in your application not being considered.
