Messages and talking points We are conducting the annual Caregiver Experience Survey across the Providence St. Joseph Health family of organizations. We are committed to learning about your unique perspective. The Mission compels us to create a great experience for and among our caregivers. It’s one of our most important priorities. We need to create a work experience where caregivers are developed, fulfilled and inspired to achieve their personal calling as we work together to create Health for a Better World. With the additional strain of the COVID-19 response, it is more important than ever that we hear from our caregivers about their experience. We genuinely appreciate everyone’s hard work during these unprecedented times.Tell us what you really think, we want the truth. Only by getting your open and honest feedback – whether it’s positive or negative – can we learn what’s working well and where improvements are needed. Participation in the survey is voluntary, but caregivers are strongly encouraged to participate because we all play a vital role in making this a great place to work and deliver safe care. Your voice matters. The 2020 Caregiver Experience Survey will be conducted beginning Oct. 7 by Willis Towers Watson (WTW), a third-party vendor. The survey will remain open for two weeks and close on Oct. 21 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Caregivers hired on or before Aug. 31, 2020, are eligible to take the survey. Caregivers on leave will receive a survey invitation. Caregivers on leave who do not complete the survey will be removed from the response rates. The online survey is offered in a variety of languages that reflect our largest demographics: English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Amharic. The survey is mobile-friendly and may be completed on a smartphone or other mobile device. The survey also includes important questions related to teamwork and safety climate as part of the Caring Reliably initiative.WTW will email each caregiver a unique link on the day the survey opens. Caregivers should save their email until they complete the survey. You will be able to save the survey at any point and come back to finish. If you lose your email from WTW, please use the self-service tool to request a replacement email. This email should not be forwarded. Caregivers should respond to the survey based on their work environment at the time of the survey. Although caregivers may experience change throughout the year, our goal is to understand everyone’s experience within the context of their current supervisor and workgroup.Individual responses are completely confidential and are submitted directly to our survey vendor, WTW. In mid-November, WTW will distribute reports to core leaders for all groups with five (5) or more caregiver responses. This means an individual’s responses will not be singled out. Reports for groups with less than five responses are combined into the next level core leader’s results. Messages for people leaders For people managers, there will be an opportunity to answer additional questions related to your personal engagement. By answering these questions, people managers will receive a separate, individual report on factors influencing their personal engagement and ideas for connecting that to your teams’ engagement. Individual responses are completely confidential and are submitted directly to our survey vendor, WTW. In mid-November, WTW will distribute aggregate reports (by both manager and department hierarchy) to core leaders for all groups with five (5) or more caregiver responses. This means an individual’s responses will not be singled out. (All results and comments, including those from groups with too few responses to receive a report, are rolled up to the next level report.) Comments are included with a report only if there are five (5) or more comments. Comments are reported as written, with non-English comments translated to English to maintain confidentiality (e.g., we don’t edit comments or delay the reporting of comments).Core leaders with smaller teams or low response rates should continue to use rounding, quarterly check-ins and leadership best practices to identify?engagement levels and areas for improvement. Core leaders with smaller teams should also partner with their next-level core leader to action-plan for the larger group. ................
