Greetings from the PastorHello, Brothers and Sisters,I’m starting to feel like the Apostle Paul, writing to the church from a distance. At least I’m not writing from a prison cell as he usually was. I have to remind myself that we are not really absent from one another, just separated during this pandemic. We are in a sense still here, still together, still in community, just not in the same room at the same time. What strange days these are. I am so grateful for the online alternatives that are available to us. (I’ll bet Paul would have used Zoom a lot.) We are hopeful that we have all the bugs out of our live stream this week, so please tune in at 10:00 am ET for our worship service. Let’s come together in the Spirit and show ourselves to be the extended Body of Christ in this time of exile. And don’t forget to send us a picture of you and your bunch streaming the service. I hope you saw the great shots from last Sunday in the Midweek. So send us yours as we celebrate our scattered worship. Last week, six of our Sunday School classes met online with Zoom and other Bible studies and groups met as well. Ryan is keeping up with our little ones and their parents, Brooke is corralling our restless students from home, and I have enjoyed great conversations with Front Porch and our New Dads. I guess we always knew that our church was more than this building at Glebe and Dittmar. It’s us, wherever we are, bound together in Christ, gathered or scattered, whatever our circumstances. So, I hope you will take advantage of every opportunity to stay connected. Tune in for worship, jump into a class, and join us on the Front Porch. I know it’s not like being there, but it’s the next best thing. As our days of isolation continue, it’s doubly important to come together and interact as much as possible online, by phone or email. I’ve noticed in our Zoom sessions that nobody seems anxious to sign off. It feels so good to see each other’s smiling faces and be together that we hate to see it end. I hope you will come on in and join the fun as part of our MBC family. I was pleased to hear that a number of folks used our online giving this past week. I trust all of us will be faithful during this exile from our normal routine to give generously as we continue the ministry and mission of our church. We anticipate additional benevolent requests in the days ahead and must be prepared to help. So, I pray God’s blessings upon you today. May you be safe and healthy in the shelter of His care. May we do all we can to share resources, to show love, to offer encouragement and hope to those who may lose heart. “See” you tomorrow.Blessings, - Drew571-215-4002dhill@coffeewithdrew. ................
