To claim reimbursement for other agreed costs you incur, you will need to provide receipts. We are required to provide receipts for all claims.

Objectives

Please bear in mind that this is a Workshop intended to focus on review and planning of eGYAfrica activities, and sharing information about NREN and other developments related to internet access in research and education institutions in Africa. It is not a conventional conference at which delegates present their latest and greatest work.

Presentations

Computer projection facilities will be available in the meeting room. You may bring your own laptop and plug it in. Because of the workshop-nature of the meeting, presentations should be kept brief and highly focused to allow plenty of time for discussion and questions.

You are invited to submit a copy of your presentation for collation and circulation to delegates after the Workshop, and posting on the website.

Program Outline

Wed 24 Oct. Assemble. Informal social gathering. Dinner is not provided by eGYAfrica.

Thu 25 Oct. Introductions, presentations, national and other reports, internet access, Digital Divide, PingER, NREN developments.

Fri 26 Oct. Partnerships and cooperation, policy review, planning, funding, publicity, website, elections. Summary. Report writing during the evening.

A draft copy of the program is attached. The program is flexible and will be revised before the start of the Workshop.

Handouts

Delegates will be provided with a printed copy of the program and a USB2.0 flash drive with other handouts.
