its premium quality. However, paying a fair price to farmers is only the beginning.

They have also taken an aggressive approach in supporting sustainable development

in the coffee industry by offering coffees that have been certified under the programs

outlined below.

For a coffee to be certified organic, it must be grown in a

manner that excludes the use of fertilizers, pesticides, hormone

treatments or steroids. Organic farmers instead must rely on

superior growing practices, natural fertilizers and alternative

methods of pest and disease control.
