Hunter McEachern50 Shades of Grey The new “hot” movie that has everybody and theirs moms conversing about is 50 Shades of Grey. Fifty Shades of Grey is the first movie to air in this new series. It came out in just in time for Valentines Day. No, I am not a fan of this movie, because when I think of romance I think of couples going out to a candle lit, roses, and amazing food dinner. I don't think of some controlling psychopath with mommy issues. It always jarring when you see women across the world not only praise this movie but promote this movie that is all about advocate emotion and psychological abuse towards a women. Its quiet shocking and disturbing that young teens across this world post things on twitter saying, “ No better way to spend Galentines day than watching Fifty Shades of Grey ” - Sara Harrington, and what is even worse is celebrities that get looked up to tweeting,202315288943 Reviewer Rosie Waterland, was so disturbed by what she saw on-screen that she left the theater on the verge of tears. “Putting this kind of controlling, emotionally abusive relationship in the context of a sexy billionaire who just needs to be loved, makes it ridiculously easy to convince audiences the world over that this kind of behavior is okay. He’s not some poor drunk with a mullet, hitting his wife for not doing the dishes. Christian is classy. Rich. Educated. He’s not what most women imagine an abuser to be, and his kind of abuse is not what most women would immediately recognize.” And yet, not surprisingly, this emotional reaction was quickly countered by blindly devote Fifty Shades of Grey fans. “If you haven’t read the books then there is a lot you don’t know and you are judging the storyline far too soon. The next two books actually are less about the sex and more about the childhood and upbringing of Christian Grey. While I admit it is not great writing — it is not about domestic violence. It is about a man who has been abused! Read the next two books before you make your assumptions.” For the record, it’s all too common for male victims of domestic violence to become abusers themselves. This is something that is lost on many of the people defending this series, almost suggesting a level of obtuseness akin to enabling. This movie is about a rich man Christian Grey, that in his childhood was abused by his “dominant” day in and day out, both mentally and physically. He then became the same person that he grew up around with. An abusive and controlling “dominant” that had a “play room” with whips, chains, and other very uncomfortable and gruesome things. This movie not only teaches the methods of psychopaths, but also promotes them with the idea that a girl will find that romantic and sexy. No, I am not a fan of this movie or series.Reference Page"As Promised: Rosie Reviews Fifty Shades of Grey." Mamamia RSS. N.p., 12 Feb. 2015.
