the diversity of our planet. ¡°I strive to show the best our world has to offer at

DFW International is the portal to international North Texas, a region in which 40% of the

residents are New Americans of first or second generation. We are a network of over

1,600 North Texas internationally-focused civic, community and educational

organizations that embodies the cultural and economic vibrancy of the global community. Our Mission is to promote and link North Texas ethnic and New American groups,

empowering them as respected members of the community and providing forums

through which to share their cultural heritages.

We at DFW International community Alliance recognize the

significant role education has played in our nation¡¯s growth

and success as well as in the ability of its inhabitants to

pursue their right to happiness. For several years we have

offered this Scholarship Guide as a downloadable

database for minority students and for children of ¡°New

Americans¡± who may not be aware of the many

opportunities for scholarships available to them. Finally,

thanks to the support of Citigroup, we are able to make

available printed copies of the Guide.

Over 40% of North Texas population is composed of

immigrants and their children. Their impact in our

cultural, economic and political well-being must be

recognized and supported. As they continue to

assimilate, their hopes and dreams become the story of

our country to the rest of the world.

This Guide is a small symbol of our gratitude to them

and to the dedicated educators who wish to assist them

to reach their personal and economic goals.
