Funlux Mini Wifi Camera. Refurbished Funlux 16 Channel 720p NVR with zmodo 16 Outdoor Bullet IP Cameras & 2TB HDD. The Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera comes from a company that's been around the home security camera arena for some time. The camera is an inexpensive and reliable option for those wanting an outdoor bullet camera. The Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera is made of metal and is fairly heavy coming in at about one pound. Any alternative mount needs to be sturdy enough to handle the heavier device. A mount made for a lightweight camera will not work. A decent mount is provided with the Zmodo camera. It's a ball and socket design that is fairly short. It's made to bolt down to a flat surface. It can also be used as a stand on a table similar to what you see in the photo that accompanies this article. The stock mount attaches to the bottom of the Zmodo bullet camera using a standard 1/4 ? 20 threaded screw hole. This industry standard screw hole is what is found on a tripod. Smartly, the mount industry has also embraced this pattern so many universal camera mounts will work fine. Just need to ensure the weight can be supported. Any alternative mount is going to need to be adjustable. The Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera has a somewhat limited 62 degree wide angle lens. This is half what is normally seen in non bullet cameras. Extra adjustment capability is needed to ensure you can get the best angle for your Zmodo camera. So, let's look at some home mounts and tripods for the Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera. By the way, don't worry if the camera is upside down as the software can flip it over for you. For those looking to do a screw on flat surface mount but are finding the stock mount to be insufficient should consider the Arkon Camera Wall Mount for CCTV POV Camcorders Cameras. This is a well made metal mount suitable for heavy cameras that need support from the bottom. This mount attaches to a wall or ceiling. Use the three adjustment points to get the proper angle. In my opinion, it's the best mount for a Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera. The adjustment potential coupled with the metal construction are hard to beat. A suction mount can be used on a smooth non-porous surface. Consider the Fat Gecko Mini Camera and Camcorder Mount. It's a well made mount that adjusts at the base and tip sufficiently to get the right angle for the best video when mounted on a window. The three-inch suction cup has a vacuum lock for a more secure hold. There's an extension arm included with the mount that we suggest using to make it easier to get the right angle. It's going to attach to the camera using the tripod hole on the bottom. The mount is made to hold up to four pounds. Naturally since the Zmodo camera has a tripod screw hole, you can also use a tripod. Consider the Acuvar 50 Inch Aluminum Camera Tripod which works fine with the Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera. Screw the camera onto the tripod and adjust the head to the proper angle. Be sure to place it in an area where you aren't going to knock it over. Also think about a pet knocking into it. The camera is easy to install and remove from the tripod. Just a matter of turning it so the tripod screw engages. Any of these mounts will work fine with the Zmodo HD Wireless Bullet Outdoor Camera and can help use your camera in locations not supported by the included mount out of the box. The Zmodo Mini Pro is a pint-sized indoor security camera that lets you monitor activity on your phone or on an Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant smart display for just $14. It's easy to install and offers other useful features including AI motion detection and time-lapse video, but you have to subscribe to a cloud storage plan to take advantage of them. At under $15, it's the most affordable security camera we've tested, but the $20 Wyze Cam V3 is an even better value and our Editors' Choice award winner for budget-friendly models.Small and SimpleThe Mini Pro is a small rectangular camera designed for indoor use. It has a white enclosure with a black camera face, measures 1.6 by 2.3 by 1.1 inches (HWD), and is supported by a folding stand that provides forward and backward tilt, but no swivel adjustments. It comes with a mounting disc and screws that allow you to attach it to a wall. The camera captures 1080p video at 25fps and has a 130-degree field of view. It uses an infrared LED to provide up to 26 feet of black-and-white night vision, and has a microphone and speaker for two-way audio. A built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi radio connects the camera to your home network and allows it to be controlled from your phone using a mobile app. It also allows you to access video streams using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. However, it doesn't work with Apple HomeKit, nor does it support IFTTT integrations that allow it to integrate with third-party smart home devices such as locks and plugs. The camera records video and sends push alerts when it detects motion, but it doesn't offer sound detection or local storage options like the Wyze Cam V3 and the Lorex 1080p Full HD Smart Indoor Wi-Fi Pan-Tilt W261AQC-E. You get free access to the last 12 hours of video history, which is stored in the cloud, but if you require a longer history you'll have to pay $4.99 per month or $49.90 per year for 7 days of rolling storage (per camera), or $9.99 per month/$99.90 per year for 30 days of storage. You also need the subscription to take advantage of certain features including AI motion detection, time-lapse video, and an in-app video editor. The Zmodo mobile app (for Android and iOS) opens to a welcome screen with a plus icon in the upper right corner for adding new devices. Below that is a notification panel with on and off buttons for enabling and disabling the camera, notifications, and sharing. Here you can create custom buttons to change the camera's behavior. For example, you can create a button to have the camera turned on, but notifications and sharing turned off.Below the notifications area are panels for all installed Zmodo cameras that contain the name of the camera, the current alert status, and Live and Playback buttons. When you tap the Live button, it opens a screen with a live stream that you can view in full-screen mode by turning your phone sideways. Along the bottom of the screen are manual record, snapshot, two-way audio, speaker mute, and playback buttons. Tap the playback button to view a scrolling timeline of alert event video and to use the video editing tool to create custom clips (tapping the Playback button in the device panel opens the same screen). To access the camera's settings, tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the Live screen. Here you can enable/disable the microphone, flip the screen orientation, share the camera and video with other users, subscribe to the cloud service, and create motion detection zones. I had the Zmodo Mini Pro up and running shortly after taking it out of the box. I downloaded the mobile app, created an account, and tapped the plus icon in the upper right corner of the welcome screen. I selected the Scan QR Code option, plugged in the camera, and followed the voice instructions to connect the camera to my Wi-Fi network and enter my Wi-Fi password. When a QR code appeared on my phone, I held it 8 inches from the Mini Pro and waited a few seconds for the camera to be recognized. I gave the camera a name, tapped Next, and the installation was done. The Mini Pro delivered sharp 1080p video in testing. Color quality was very good, and black-and-white night vision was clear and adequately illuminated out to around 25 feet. There was no obvious barrel or pincushion distortion, and two-way audio was clean and loud. Intelligent motion detection and motion zones worked well, as did streaming video to an Amazon Echo Show using Alexa voice commands. The Most Affordable Security Camera, But Not Quite the BestIf you want to monitor activity inside your home on a budget, the Zmodo Mini Pro is definitely appealing. For just $14, it delivers sharp 1080p video and offers intelligent motion detection, 12 hours of free cloud storage, and voice control. That said, you have to subscribe to Zmodo's cloud service to take advantage of object detection and time-lapse video, and to access video older than 12 hours. For $6 more, the Wyze Cam V3 is a much better deal: It can be used indoors or outside, offers color night vision and local storage, has a built-in siren, and works with a wealth of third-party smart devices. As such it remains our Editors' Choice winner for affordable security cameras. See It $22.99 at Amazon MSRP $14.00 Pros View More Cons Many features require cloud subscription Doesn't support HomeKit or IFTTT Limited thirdparty integrations View More The Zmodo Mini Pro is a tiny indoor Wi-Fi home security camera that offers sharp HD video and intelligent alerts for under $15, though it's not quite as strong a value as the similarly priced Wyze Cam.
