Leadership Project ProposalProject Leads: (Names): Lisa Emery & Melia ShamblinOther Team Member (Name): Marlo WalzProject Purpose: (Please state the overall goal of this project)Our aim is to bring knowledge and awareness geared towards a possible employment opportunity for high school students. The goal of this project is to work towards producing a concrete method and related literature for training Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) straight out of high school to work in rural areas, and thus increasing the RBT workforce in Nevada.Method: ?(Please describe the overall plan for what you will do to accomplish this project)Develop literature geared towards administration and faculty:Who are we? Deliverables from this project include: a pamphlet or flyer to hand out to high school students and literature for administrators and faculty briefly explaining what the RBT program is along with contact information, a PowerPoint presentation to be presented to high school students, social validity data containing evidence of student interest in this certification program and evidence of collaboration attempts with rural high schools. Our overall outcome is expanding the knowledge and awareness of the Registered Behavior Technician certification to a future, possible workforce. Interdisciplinary Focus: (Please describe how your project will be interdisciplinary in nature.)This project pulls from psychology (behavior analysis) in that they are those directly involved in the RBT supervision and module training. Secondary level educators as well as admin staff from the education world are involved from a vocational standpoint (providing potential job training to high school students to be used straight out of their high school careers). Lastly, this project focuses on families since they will be directly affected provided the high school students complete and pass the RBT certification exam.Faculty Mentor(s) (who have agreed to mentor this project and how they will be involved):Dr. Larry Williams (UNR): advising as a registered Board Certified Behavior Analyst with the BACBDr. Stephen Rock (UNR)Dr. Mario Gaspar de Alba (UNLV)FOR USE OF INTERDISCIPLINARY TRAINING COMMITTEE ONLY:FEEDBACK TO TRAINEES:APPROVAL DATE: ................
