WEEKLY REMOTE LEARNING PLANNING FORM ROOM #_23_ WEEKOF: 10/19 - 10/23 TEACHER’S NAME: Nelly S. What body part do we use to touch? We can feel different texture using our hands and sense of touch.1. Writing- Encourage students to create the 1st letter of their name using seeds/beans.2. Art- Encourage students to paint a picture using their fingers. Easy non-toxic paint recipe:1 cup of cold water2 tablespoons cornstarch4 tablespoons sugarfood coloring3 plastic containers or bowls3 Jars with covers (baby food jars work great!)small whisk or spoonfinger paint paper3. Literacy- Our special letter of the week: /l/. They will use books to identify words that begin with our special letter.4. Dramatic Play- Encourage students to create a restaurant where they can order from the menu. (Teachers will create a menu with the food items found in the kitchen). Have one student order from the menu and the other student creates the order.5. Math- heavy/light: Provide your child with different items to explore which are heavy/light 6. Science- Encourage students touch different items of different textures. Which your favorite/ least favorite?7. Blocks- Create a pumpkin patch8. Sensory-Using a large ziplock bag, add different gels, soap or shampoo and have students touch using their feet. What does it feel like? Do they like it or dislike it?9. Computer- Counting/number game : 10/20How does it feel? Each student will get a zip lock bag with 5 different textures (soft, smooth, rough, hard, bumpy) I will ask the students to pull out one item at a time, and describe what they feel. Teacher will glue that item on a poster board and label it.1. Writing- Encourage children to label different textures: (soft, smooth, rough, hard, bumpy). 2. Art- create a texture collage/texture hand3. Literacy- Our special letter of the week: /l/. They will use pictures to create a collage of words that start with that letter.4. Dramatic Play- Pretend going shopping for vegetables/fruits. As you pick them describe their texture.5. Math- Number of the week: 2. Have your child count household items such as: beans, seeds, cereal, pasta, and toys. Request a number of items and have your child count and correspond with the items. 6. Science- Explore the inside of an apple7. Blocks- Encourage students to build the tallest building they can.8. Sensory/Water-Alphabet fishing9. Music & Movement- Five Senses Song | Song for Kids | The Kiboomers: 10/21Using the senses that we have learned, students will be encouraged to hypothesize how a pumpkin feels inside, smell and taste. They will also be asked to describe how the pumpkin looks. Answers will be recorded.1. Writing- Encourage students to copy words from a book that’s related to theme.2. Why or why not?ThursdayDate: 10/22Today we will be testing our predictions from yesterday. We will use our senses as we carve and explore the inside of the pumpkin. 1. Writing- Encourage students to write letters using scented paint. How does it feel?2. Art- Create pumpkin crafts3. Literacy- Our special letter of the week: /l/. Children will attempt to trace the letter and decorate it. l=ladybug craft. 4. Dramatic Play- Pretend going shopping for vegetables/fruits. As you pick them describe their texture.5. Math- Number of the week: 2. Have your child count household items such as: beans, seeds, cereal, pasta, and toys. Request a number of items and have your child count and correspond with the items. 6. Science- Explore the inside of the pumpkin… what do you see? How does it feel? Does the pumpkin have the same inside as the apple?7. Blocks- Pretend to be a farmer taking care of an apple orchard- what does an apple tree need to help them grow? How do we take care of an apple tree? Why does a farmer need a tractor? What is the tractor used for on the farm? 8. Sensory- Make playdoh. Add scent like coffee, spice, essential oils, glitter. Talk about the playdoh as the student plays. Describe the smell/ feel/ look of the different playdoh.9. Music & Movement- Play simple simon says. Give directions for touching their nose, ears, mouth and eyes, but only if simon says.FridayDate: 10/23We will continue to explore our sense of touch by dipping our hands in cold/warm water and describing what we feel.1. Writing- Writing folders 2. Art- Pumpkin/apple seed collage. Label you work when finished (apple/pumpkin) 3. Literacy- Our special letter of the week: /l/. Children will use dot art to find the letter /l/ on a mixed letter sheet.4. Dramatic Play- Encourage students to create a restaurant where they can order from the menu. (Teachers will create a menu with the food items found in the kitchen). Have one student order from the menu and the other student creates the order. 5. Math- Sort different textures that you find around the house. Count the textures. Which texture has more items? which textures are heavy/light?6. Science- Using a mirror have students identify body parts and then have them identify what is the function of the body part7. Blocks- Encourage students to build the buildings they see when they are outside or build a building using a visual.8. Sand- What did you find in the sand? Leaves? Acorns? How many?9. Music & Movement- Freeze dance: Encourage students to dance freely or copy movements. Pause the music at various points and encourage students to “FREEZE”!!!
