Harry Connick, Jr. Rocks Pink Season with Benefit Concert for

10th Anniversary Rock the Ribbon Celebration Honors and the Millions of Lives Touched by the Nonprofit Organization

Ardmore, PA -- September 22, 2010. As a grand finale to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Grammy Award-winning singer Harry Connick Jr. will be the featured performer at Philadelphia's famed Academy of Music on Saturday, October 30, 2010 for Rock the Ribbon – the 10th anniversary celebration and benefit concert for .

In the 10 years since its founding, has become the world’s leading online breast cancer resource, reaching more than 27 million people across the globe with the most reliable, comprehensive, and up-to-date medical information and much-needed peer support. serves those affected by breast cancer by helping them better understand complex medical information, guiding them through their medical and emotional journey, and connecting them with an empathetic, supportive peer community.

Proceeds from Rock the Ribbon will help fund enhancements to ’s current online content and expand its reach through Spanish translation tools, mobile applications, video programming, and an expanded risk reduction initiative.

Amanda Westphal Radcliffe and Sheri Lambert, both members of the Board of Directors, are the co-chairs of Rock the Ribbon.

Philadelphia native, nationally recognized singer, songwriter, and cancer survivor Lauren Hart will serve as emcee for the night’s festivities. Singer, pianist and songwriter Tony DeSare will be the featured performer at the pre-concert Sponsors’ Reception.

Harry Connick, Jr.'s career has been studded with awards and recognition, including several multi-platinum and gold albums, Grammy and Emmy awards, and a starring role in the Tony-winning Broadway musical, The Pajama Game. The New Orleans native is an acclaimed singer, composer, big-band leader, and actor. He has appeared in numerous films, including the blockbuster Independence Day, Little Man Tate, Copycat, Hope Floats, and P.S. I Love You, as well as television roles on Cheers, South Pacific, and Will & Grace.  Connick also starred in Living Proof, a Lifetime television movie on Dennis Slamon, the UCLA doctor who developed the breast cancer drug Herceptin. In addition to his musical and acting accomplishments, Connick has also made his imprint on the rebuilding of his hometown after it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Connick and fellow musician and New Orleans-native Branford Marsalis teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to develop Musicians’ Village in the city’s Ninth Ward, which was among the hardest hit areas.  The organization has built homes, a park, and recently broke ground on the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, named in honor of the legendary jazz pianist.
