Giuseppe Aiovalasit – Plaintiff/Smoker
• For purposes of establishing membership in the Engle Class Litigation, it appears as if Giuseppe Aiovalasit’s permanent residency in the State of Florida during the required time frame is not in question. The Plaintiff registered to vote in 1995, and was issued a Florida driver’s license in 1971. Through criminal, civil, business, property ownership, and other public records, it appears he has a history of continuous residency in Florida since at least 1979.
• Born on September 19, 1942 in Palermo, Italy
• Resides in Broward County, FL; previously resided in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties, FL, and Richmond and Kings County, NY
• Previously married to Anna Aiovalasit; married in 1964, separated in 1974, divorced in 2006; three (3) children: Josephine Aiovalasit, Giovanni Aiovalasit, Salvatore Aiovalasit; currently in a relationship with Dorothy M. Jeannidis
• Received 5th grade education in Palermo, Italy
• Employment history sporadic; in Florida, based on various public records, he was employed as a baker, landscaper, painter, pressure cleaner, restaurateur, and chauffeur; has received unemployment benefits
• Three (3) criminal records and probation violation identified; charged and convicted of 2nd Degree Arson in 1991 and Carrying a Concealed Weapon in 1986; probation violation in 1991, charged with Aggravated Assault-Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, charges reduced, then dismissed
• Fifteen civil records identified; filed in Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade Counties, FL between 1979 and 2008; cases include a 2008 petition for protection against repeat violence filed by him, his 2006 divorce, evictions in 1979 and 1988, and four (4) judgments filed in 1986 and 1987 totaling approximately $22,500, as well as small claims and contract/indebtedness cases filed both by and against him and later dismissed
• Five (5) Florida traffic infractions and five (5) Florida accidents reports identified
• No workers’ compensation, disability, or bankruptcy (as debtor) records identified
Giuseppe Aiovalasit is a 68-year-old male born on September 19, 1942 in Palermo, Italy. He was issued Social Security Number 076-36-0940 in the State of New York in 1961-1963. He has resided in the States of Florida (Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade Counties), New York (Richmond and Kings Counties), and possibly New Jersey (unconfirmed). His current residence is 101 NW 14th Way #1, Dania Beach Beach, FL 33004. The only property ownership determined for the Plaintiff was a timeshare condominium purchased in 1983. The Plaintiff was issued a Florida driver’s license in 1971 and has been registered to vote in Florida since 1995.
Giuseppe Aiovalasit was born and raised in Palermo, Italy. At some point prior to 1961-1963, the year(s) he was issued a Social Security Number, he emigrated from Italy to the United States. In October 1964, he married Anna Crisanti in Brooklyn, NY. In September 1965, his daughter Josephine was born. In June 1968, his son Giovanni was born. In September 1970, his son Salvatore was born. His employment activities during this time are unknown. He may have moved to Florida in 1971, the year he was issued a Florida driver’s license. He was separated from his wife in 1974. The first confirmed instances of the Plaintiff’s residency in Florida were evictions in 1979 and 1988, and a financing statement for Colonial Bakery filed in 1981. We also identified a 1983 state tax lien associating him with Colonial Bakery. Civil, criminal, business, driver’s license, motor vehicle registration, and voter registration records indicate continuous residency in Florida from the late 1970s to present. During his time in Florida, the Plaintiff appears to have been employed as a baker, landscaper, painter, pressure cleaner, restaurateur, and chauffeur. Based on matching address histories, civil records, and property ownership records, he appears to have resided with Dorothy M. Jeannidis since at least 1988, with whom he has had some type of relationship since at least 1983, when they purchased a timeshare condominium together.
The Plaintiff’s parents and siblings (if any) were not identified through the usual sources and methods. They may have remained in Italy after the Plaintiff emigrated.
One (1) marriage has been identified, to Anna Crisanti (DOB 08/11/1944) on October 10, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY. The couple was separated in 1974, but not divorced until August 2006 in Palm Beach County, FL. Three (3) children were identified from this marriage, Josephine Aiovalasit, born September 26, 1965, Giovanni Aiovalasit, born June 2, 1968, and Salvatore Aiovalasit, born September 22, 1970.
We identified a long-standing relationship between the Plaintiff and Dorothy M. Jeannidis (DOB 08/02/1941), a long time resident of Florida. She appears to have been previously married as well, based on a maiden name of Murphy, although no Florida marriage record was identified.
The Plaintiff’s only listed educational background was in Palermo, Italy, where he completed the 5th grade. No further educational background was determined.
The Plaintiff indicates that he was employed as a baker and landscaper. Through employment database searches, business filings, and tax liens, we identified three (3) possible bakeries at which he might have been employed; Doris Bakery, Colonial Bakery, and Palermo Bakery. We did not identify any business filings naming the Plaintiff in association with a landscaping business. Giuseppe Aiovalasit filed two (2) Florida fictitious business names; Sunlight Services in 2003 (expired 2008), and G. Aiovalasit Pressure Cleaning in 2000 (expiration unknown). He was a listed Director, with Dorothy Jeannidis, in two (2) Florida corporations; Sicilian Garden, Inc. from 1993 to 1994, and Grandpa’s Pizza, Inc. from 1986 to 1987. A 1991 criminal record indicates the Plaintiff was employed as a painter, and a 1979 civil suit was filed against Giuseppi (sic) Aiovalasit and Giuseppis Italian Restaurant, while 1996 and 1997 accident reports indicate he held a chauffeur’s license. Documents completed by the Plaintiff in his 2006 divorce indicate he was retired and received $700 bi-monthly unemployment payments at the time.
We identified three (3) criminal records and a probation violation naming Giuseppe Aiovalasit. He was charged and convicted of Felony 2nd Degree Arson in 1991, and Felony Carrying a Concealed Weapon in 1986. In 1991, he was also charged with violation of probation in conjunction with the 1986 case. The Plaintiff was also arrested for Aggravated Assault-Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon in 1985. We identified a 1992 Florida bankruptcy, which names Giuseppe Aiovalasit only as a creditor to Duo Ameche, Inc., d/b/a Mulberry Street Market.

Dorothy M. Jeannidis has a long-standing relationship with the Plaintiff. We identified property ownership deeds naming both the Plaintiff and Ms. Jeannidis, dating back to 1983, business filings dating back to 1986, and an eviction in 1988. A 1993 Florida business filing names her as Dorothy Aiovalasit. While the Plaintiff was married until 2006, records from the divorce indicate he was separated from his wife starting in 1974. The nature of the relationship between Dorothy Jeannidis and the Plaintiff has not been determined. Due to the longevity of their involvement and the fact she has utilized the Plaintiff’s last name in the past, Ms. Jeannidis was included as a subject of this investigation.
Dorothy Murphy Jeannidis, a/k/a Dorothy Ann Jeannidis was born on August 2, 1941. Her place of birth was not determined. She was issued Social Security Number 264-58-7805 in the State of Florida in 1956. She has resided in the State of Florida (Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade Counties). Her current residential address is 101 NW 14th Way, Dania Beach, FL 33004, owned by Lynn M. Damiano since 2004.
Marital/Relationship History
No marriages were positively identified. A 2000 child support petition identified in Palm Beach County names Dorothy Jeannidis as petitioner and Steve Boner as respondent. We identified a 1976 civil record naming a Thomas Jeannidis. We did not identify a Thomas Jeannidis in a database nationwide search. We also identified an Anastasios John Jeannidis (DOB 04/1937) among the potential relatives listed for Dorothy Jeannidis. Anastasios Jeannidis is believed to be a former husband of Dorothy Jeannidis as at least one of her children shares an address history with him. Two (2) children were identified, Prosia Ann Jeannidis, born May 1963, and Maria Alexander Jeannidis, born August 1968.
