Business Development AssociateThe Business Development Associate is responsible for expanding the network of employers willing to hire veterans, and connecting veterans to jobs that match their skill sets and career ambitions. This position reports to the Program Manager.Responsibilities:Develop and manage relationships with senior level professionals and Human Resources managers that will open the doors for new employment opportunities for Veterans.Write complete and detailed recruitment plans to ensure a full understanding of job responsibilities, candidate requirements, and business needs.Develop and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts to identify and source qualified veterans across a diverse range of positions, industries and geographies.Be able to demonstrate?the ability to effectively use multi-channel sourcing activities such as social networking sites, career sites, professional organization, etc. to identify potential employment opportunities. Identify new employer opportunities through various business development techniques including cold-calling, following up on warm leads, and attending networking events; consistently research ways to create partnerships with local businesses.Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations that communicate U.S.VETS’ mission, goals, values, and brand.Meets with veterans on a weekly basis or as otherwise needed to understand their identified target job objectives and barriers to employment.Assists veterans with collecting work history, marketable skills, and interest for employment search. Assists veterans with creating a professional resume and cover letter, as well as helping create a master application to use as a reference when completing applications for employment. Documents all progress in the case note section of the veteran file and/or on various workforce forms in the veteran file.Obtains Employment Verification Letter (EVL) and/or pay stub from veterans within first two weeks of employment.Assists with securing interviews for veterans based on information obtained during the Veteran/Business Development Associate meeting. Confers with supervisor to address potential/actual clientele problems.Maintains data on clients and job opportunities and provide reports on progress and goals.Ability to meet or exceed performance metrics.Performs other duties as assigned.Business Development Associate (con’t)Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Services or related field required. A minimum of 2 years job development experience, preferably in a government-funded or for-profit staffing environment, may substitute for degree requirements.Ability to work with senior management and Hiring Managers within client companies to ensure successful partnerships.Skilled in sourcing, cold call and competitor direct sourcing techniques.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Adept at communicating expectations, providing feedback and managing an efficient process.Ability to work under minimal supervision.Strong organizational skills, including time management and multi-tasking.PC Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to navigate within various Technology systems.A wide degree of creativity, near and long-term recruiting vision, business understanding, and personal organization.Professional manner and appearance.
