The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual from the Maple Grove or Osseo area or the surrounding community demonstrating high ethical practices and/or strong business leadership. A cornerstone of Rotary is strong ethical practices exemplified by the Rotary Motto of “Service Above Self” and the Four Way Test of the things Rotarians think, say and do, Is it the Truth?Is it Fair to all concerned?Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships? Is it Beneficial to All Concerned?The Maple Grove Rotary Business Ethics and Leadership Award recognizes an individual or leader of a business or organization that exemplifies high ethical behavior and/or strong leadership in their conduct and operations. The commitment to ethics should be demonstrated at all levels of the culture including dealing with customers, clients, employees, members, vendors, owners, the community and charitable endeavors. Ethics may be illustrated in company marketing, operations, communications, sales practices, publications and reputation in the community. Leadership may be shown by how the individual leads the business /organization through adversity and success. Leadership may also include a commitment to diversity and involvement in local, regional and national issues.SELECTION PROCESS:Nomination Process. Nominations will be accepted from individuals, business men and women, leaders, organizations, municipalities, chambers, civic groups, Churches, and Rotarians that work, serve, reside or volunteer in this area. Panel of Judges. A committee of Members from the Rotary Club of Maple Grove will select the winner. Eligibility Requirements. The recipient of the Maple Grove Rotary Business Ethics and Leadership Award must be a business man or woman or the leader of an organization that is working, operating, living, acting, supporting, serving or volunteering in Maple Grove or Osseo area or the surrounding community. Paul Harris founded Rotary in 1905. A Paul Harris Fellow recognizes an individual for substantial humanitarian and educational service and demonstration of the Rotary Foundation objectives. With the award of a Paul Harris Fellow, $1,000.00 is donated in the recipient’s name to the Rotary International Foundation. The Paul Harris Fellow is an important and prestigious award in Rotary. DONATION:To further acknowledge the Recipient’s commitment to ethics and leadership, the Rotary Club of Maple Grove will contribute $500 in the name of the Recipient to a “Qualified Charitable Organization” selected by the Recipient. A “Qualified Charitable Organization” includes organizations operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes, or for the prevention of cruelty to animals or children, or the development of amateur sports and as further defined by the Internal Revenue Code.
