Class Title: Quilt Studio Planning and Design
Duration: 6 hours
Format: Instruction mixed with hands on studio planning using scale furniture models and graph paper
Class is designed for up to 15 students to learn the basics of quilt studio design and conquer individual studio challenges. Each student brings her measurements and photographs to share with the class. All aspects of studio design are covered from ergonomics to storage solutions customized to the needs of the quilter. Students walk away with their ideal studio layout along with recommendations for furniture and storage solutions.
Pre-work by Quilters:
o Rough Sketch of room layout with furniture
o Measure room dimensions and write on sketch (include windows and doors)
o Measure furniture dimensions (Height, width, and depth)
o Mark outlet and heating vent locations on sketch
o Measure Fabric Stash volume (use attached worksheet)
o Take photos of your room (optional)
o Print photos and bring memory stick (optional)

o Pica Half Scale Ruler
o Graph Paper
