Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training Requirement

To qualify for a preliminary credential, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) requires that you provide evidence of completion of CPR training that includes infant, child and adult skills. Verification of current CPR training must be submitted to the Teaching Credentials Department before you finish the credential program.

Training Courses that the CTC accepts:

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS course "B" (Adult and Pediatric Heartsaver) BLS course "C" (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)

American Red Cross Community CPR Community First Aid and Safety Adult CPR plus Infant and Child CPR CPR for the Professional Rescuer National Safety Council Adult CPR plus Infant/Child CPR Medic First Aid Basic or Pediatric Plus Save-A-Heart Adult, Child, Infant, Two-Person CPR Training Critical Moments Childcare Provider CPR & First Aid (covers infant, child, & adult) EMS Safety Services CPR Adult Guidelines & Pediatric Emergency First Response Primary, Secondary, & Care for Children American Health Care Academy Adult, Child, Infant CPR & AED First Aid American Safety & Health Institute CPR Pro, CPR Training Completion Card for Healthcare Professionals **Online CPR training is acceptable as long as it covers infant, child, & adult skills AND is equivalent to the American Red Cross "Level B" course.
