Submit a proposal to present at the 2010 CAHSAH Annual Conference before August 28.

The California Association for Health Services at Home will host its Annual Conference & Home Care Expo on May 4-7, 2010 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Our theme, “Money Matters: Investing in the Future” will highlight the importance looking ahead to thrive in the current economic situation. The conference draws more than 350 home care and hospice professionals from around the United States.

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for presentations that will enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of those working in the home care and hospice field:

• Impart new information

• Share promising strategies and best practices

• Depict creative programs and services

• Demonstrate innovative ideas/solutions

Presenters are required to:

• Complete the Presentation Application and include all required attachments (Note: incomplete Proposal(s) may be disqualified)

• List of Additional Presenters with full contact information, resume or brief bio for each presenter in the session

• Willingness to tailor a presentation for audience and to accept direction from the Conference committee

• Ability to bring own LCD projector and laptop should presentation require use of it.

• Accepted presentation - Make no substantial changes in content, or in presenters, without prior written approval from CAHSAH

• Final presentation slides/handouts must be submitted no later than March 19, 2010

• Presentation must be free of commercialism/political views

• VERY IMPORTANT! Provide a substitute presenter of equal expertise in the event the original presenter cannot attend. Contact CAHSAH office immediately.

The entire review and selection process takes approximately 8-12 weeks from the final proposal acceptance date of

August 26. You will be notified via email/mail of your proposal's status.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

Proposals may be mailed or emailed to CAHSAH at rstarks@ or 3780 Rosin Court, Suite 190, Sacramento, CA 95834. The application form must be complete for your submission to be considered and reviewed by committee.

Compensation

Concurrent Session: CAHSAH values the time and expertise of speakers. By submitting your proposal for a concurrent session, you recognize that as a nonprofit organization, CAHSAH is unable to pay honoraria, travel, meal, lodging or per diem costs to concurrent session speakers. However, CAHSAH is pleased to offer all presenters a complimentary registration on the day(s) of their presentation and a 50% discount on registration fees for other days. Substitutions for complimentary or discounted registrations are not permitted.

Keynote Session: To keep our conference fees affordable, if you charge for your keynote presentation, we ask that requests for compensation for keynote sessions be kept to a minimum. Please indicate your fee below:

The primary presenter is designated as the main contact for conference information and is required to notify all co-presenters in the proposed presentation of the outcome of the selection process. CAHSAH will determine the date and time of your presentation. For this reason, all prospective presenters must be available to speak on any day of the conference until the presentation date/time is confirmed.

□ If selected, presenters are required to adhere to all submission deadlines that will be outlined in their acceptance letter.
