With the 5th most number of Medicare beneficiaries in the United States, passage of this law will allow Pennsylvania pharmacists to improve the health and well-being of a significant number of Pennsylvanians.Personal info/stories/work infoThis bill will make a tremendous difference to patients needing additional access to the essential health care services that pharmacists provide in collaboration with other members of the health care team. S314 will allow Pennsylvania pharmacists to work within our state laws and regulations that govern pharmacy practice to be a more effective member of the team as we work together for our patients. Examples of these health care services include managing chronic diseases (examples include diabetes and heart failure), providing wellness testing (cholesterol and blood pressure measurements and providing vaccinations), managing complex medication regimens, and providing detailed counseling and education and follow-up after a patients discharge from a hospital. By allowing pharmacists to provide these services, pharmacists can help patients improve their overall health, reduce hospital admissions and reduce emergency department visits. Sincerely, ................
