All OWP assignments and tests, both PRACTICE MODE and NON PRACTICE MODE will have point values that match the exact number of tasks students have to complete for the problem. CURRENT WORKAROUNDS: Teachers can edit point values as they like. See how to do that here. Teachers can weight assignments using the SETTINGS tab in the PROGRESS APP. See how to do that here. Some problems are cut off by the instructions if they are too wide.FUTURE UPDATE: When students click the instructions link, the assignment screen doesn’t auto-adjust. We are working to fix that now and any updates will be posted tot the Century21 Accounting updates page here. CURRENT WORKAROUND: If students open the instructions by clicking the full ebook app, e rather than the instructions link and then using the table of contents to get to the page where the instructions are, then the problem auto-adjusts and offers horizontal scroll within the ledger if the window is not wide enough to fit both instructions and the full problem.Rather than clicking the instructions link, click the full ebook app. When the full ebook opens the assignment screen now adjusts to fit on the screen. Use the table of contents to navigate to the page with instructions for the current problem. Some problems tell students to go back to their solution for a prior problem to complete an assignment.FUTURE UPDATE: the instructions for these problems (41 total) will include the prior assignment solution needed to complete the next problem.CURRENT WORKAROUNDS:OPTION 1: Teachers have access to all OWP solutions in the teacher companion site accessed in NGLsync by clicking RESOURCES from the NGLsync dashboard. These are found under ANSWER KEYS>Working Papers Solutions. Teachers can print or share the solution for a prior problem with students as needed.OPTION 2: Students can open the prior problem in a MindTap window. They can then go back to the NGLsync dashboard without logging in again and click LAUNCH COURSE to open a second MindTap session. Complete the second problem in the new MindTap session and view your prior answers in the prior MindTap session tab. Please see below. Students will only be able to save in the most recently opened MindTap window. Some students are getting SAVE ERROR when they try to save or submit OWP assignments.NOTE: we have been getting reports of students attempting to open multiple MindTap sessions in multiple tabs or windows to either view instructions that were cutting off working space or to view prior solutions for the two issues above. Whichever window was opened LAST is considered the ACTIVE session. That means that if students open a second window, that is where they should work on a problem. It will only save work that is entered in the ACTIVE session, or the MindTap tab/window that was opened most recently on their device.First thing’s first!COURSE CREATION AND REGISTERING MY STUDENTS IN NGLSYNC HYPERLINK "" NGLsync is the portal to any MindTap course. All readings have a gray textbook icon to the left to indicate it is a reading. Opening a reading will bring you to the table of contents for that reading. You can quickly navigate to a section of the reading using the hyperlinks.Reading will match your print textbook, as well as all images, charts, and figures. Click and drag to select any portion of text and the Annotation Window will open. This window allows students to highlight in one of four colors. Teachers have a fifth, orange color that is a Shared Highlight. Creating a shared highlight will also push that highlight to your student’s eReader as they read along, indicating it is an area of focus. The Annotation Window also allows you to take notes by clicking “Add Note.” A textbook will appear. Enter a note and click “Save.” If you want to add a Shared Note with the rest of the class as your students read through the text, click the “Share” button at the bottom of the note and click “Save.” The note will now turn orange and live in the margin for students to click on as they read.Teachers can also add resources into the reading using the pencil tool at the top-left of the eReader next to the “Chapter Contents” button. The activity will then be added into the reading where you clicked the orange plus sign for all students to access as they read. The top-right of the eReader offers icons for a ReadSpeaker, tools to change the size of text, bookmark, and print pages. The Search Tool always lives at the top of the course. You can search for print text page numbers to get to that point in the reading, as well as keywords, or assignment names to quickly navigate through the course.Vocab terms within the reading will also be hyperlinked with the definition. Click on a Vocab Term to view the definition. These terms also live in the Flash Card app on the right-hand app dock. The icon looks like a stack of index cards.Students can study flash cards online by clicking the term to flip the card and view the definition.
