Geography CGC1D Exam Review Sheet

Exam 20% – Tuesday, January 24, 2017 – 9:00 - 10:30 am (90 minutes)

Room 336 - Important Information!

• Have the proper equipment – 2 blue/black pens, 2 pencils (sharpened/with lead), eraser, ruler and calculator in a clear Ziploc bag. There will be no sharing.

• You will sign in at the exam. The teacher will come around with the sheet.

• Look through the entire exam and write down the time you need for that section. Make sure the total time fits in the testing/exam time. Give yourself 5 minutes to review at the end. Use the mark break down to plan your timing. You may leave only after 60 minutes (10 am) once you have stapled, handed in exam to the teacher and signed out.

• Start with the part that you know and stick to the time limit! You do not have to go in order.

• If you don’t know something, star it and return to it later. Do not waste time.

• Look at the marks. If it says 5 marks, give at least 5 points.

• Don’t spend time elaborating when it is only worth a very few marks but do give a clear, succinct (to the point) explanation.

• Some questions might give you hints to other questions. If this is the case, put a rough note beside the question or on foolscap (lined paper) to come back to the question.

• No questions will be answered except to re-phrase. Do not plagiarize (cheat).

• For the long answer, use the foolscap paper to roughly plan your response and to write out your answer. Double space for legibility.

• Make good written study notes (active learning – read, write, say out loud). Come to room N301 at lunch once you have done some studying on your own. Make a study schedule and stick to it.

• Take a deep breath. If you have studied and prepared properly, you should do fine. A little stress is okay and studying decreases your stress!
