Loans:

• The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) provides financial assistance programs to qualified students to help cover the costs associated with attending university ( ). Also, you may be eligible for 30% off your tuition if your parents make less than $160,000 per year.

• The level of assistance you qualify for from OSAP is determined by considering your complete financial situation. This includes looking at parental income level, savings, educational costs, living costs and any other resources available to you; each student is assessed on an individual basis. You can get a quick estimate of the level you qualify for by using the OSAP Aid Estimator on their site (takes about 5 minutes).

• APPLY EARLY! The application for OSAP is available in early spring. The earlier you apply, the earlier you will find out the amount of assistance you will receive. Make sure you submit all requested supporting documentation. Missing documents will delay the processing of your application.

• RECOMMENDED OSAP APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 15. If you apply and submit your supporting documentation by June 15, you should receive your funding in time for the September fee deadline.
