Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director this role offers the opportunity to grow and develop your career within a successful, progressive company and a competitive salary based on experience.The overall purpose of the role is to produce accurate estimates on time for adjudication and to negotiate successful tenders through to hand-over with the delivery teams, to enable the Company to fulfil its business objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:To review and assess the tender documentation and requirements to enable production of successful tenders through to hand-over with the delivery teamsReceive, acknowledge and check tender documentation and (along with other members of the Bid Team) raise queries relating to the tender documentation.Review and evaluate the tender information and contribute to Bid StrategyTo be able to price labour and material build-ups from first principlesPrice the Preliminaries in conjunction with the Planner and/or Construction TeamObtain, collate, evaluate and compare the quotations received, both in terms of price and qualifications.Where applicable, to produce (where not provided) a bill of quantities; completed either externally or in-houseConsider alternatives which may produce financial or programme advantagesArrange a check of the final priced estimate prior to submissionProduce clear and complete reports from Company estimating software and standard spreadsheets - including the Tender Workbook - for presentation to the Bid and Contract Teams and Directors at Pre-Adjudication and Adjudication meetingsTo produce accurate net estimates with full breakdowns for adjudicationOversee or produce the full measurement of the works to an agreed standard.Select suppliers / sub-contractors from the approved list and obtain competitive quotations on a like for like basisMaintain communications and consult with the selected suppliers / sub-contractors during the tender periodAttend mid tender meetings with client / professional team and carry out site surveys/visits as requiredTo identify and report on risk and opportunity/scopeMake sure that tenders consider health and safety, quality and environmental legislation as well as compliant with Brymor policies and proceduresTo seek value engineering and advantage through tender processQUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:GCSEs (minimum of 5 at grade C or above or at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English) or NVQ level 2-3 (as appropriate), or equivalent experience A levels or NVQ level 3 or BTEC, or equivalent experience / degree or equivalent experienceCurrent driving licenseCSCS card is desirableTemporary Works Awareness is desirableWorking knowledge of Estimating softwareKnowledge of all major procurement formsBeing able to deliver estimates regarding accuracy and attention to detailPrevious working experience as construction estimator for 5 yearsCritical problem-solving abilityExcellent written and oral communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to deal with confidential information and maintain confidentialityThe ability to work independently and problem solveAbility to work well under pressure to deadlinesGood organisational abilityIf you would like to apply for this position please send an up-to-date CV and covering letter to recruitment@brymor.co.uk Applicants must have a Right to Work in the UK. ................
