JOB INFORMATION
This is a limited tenure job in the State service. This is introductory, specialized work in information technology in State government. Employees in this class serve an apprenticeship under the supervision of professional employees in the State service. Assignments are in skilled and/or professional areas of IT such as technical support, data management, security & compliance, network infrastructure, systems administration, and/ or application development. Work is performed under the close supervision of a technical and/or professional superior who assigns projects, gives preliminary instructions, and reviews work in progress and upon completion for quality and adherence to established standards. No employment register is maintained. Vacancies are filled by direct appointment by various departments across the State.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)
? Based on the job class being underfilled, individuals will be required to meet specified educational requirements in order to qualify for appointment.
NOTE(S)
? Applicants must not meet the current minimum experience requirements. (Please see announcement of job class being underfilled to ensure you do not meet the current experience requirements.) ? Applicants who are employed as a State IT Trainee must immediately vacate this position upon obtaining the required experience. Applicants must apply and be placed on the employment register for the job class they are underfilling.
