President¡¯s Message

July 2016

July 4th is the 68th Annual Boulder City Damboree Celebration. At

7 a.m. enjoy Rotary¡¯s Pancake Breakfast at Bicentennial

Park, 1100 Colorado St. Everyone should then rendezvous

at 8 a.m. at the intersection of California and Colorado St.

by Bicentennial Park. Representative Heck will be walking

with CCRP. The parade starts at 9 a.m. so wear comfortable

walking shoes, bring your sun screen and a hat. If you¡¯ve never done this

before you don¡¯t know what you¡¯re missing. It¡¯s great fun. Can¡¯t walk? Enjoy

the park. We¡¯ll be there soon. Hope to see everyone on the 4th.

One more change regarding Rep. Joe Heck speaking in August

and hopefully this is the last change! The date is now AUGUST 23rd. Be

sure to update your calendars with this new date.

The primary is behind us and now it¡¯s time to support our candidates

of choice. Congratulations to those candidates that won their primary and

don¡¯t have a run off. To the candidates facing Democrats in November we need

to extend whatever aid we can. If you want to help but don¡¯t know where to

start give me a call. Helping campaigns is a very satisfying experience. Our

grass roots efforts are part of what makes Nevada so special. We can make a

difference!

SHRW has designated Wednesday as our day to work in Joe Heck¡¯s

office. If Wednesday doesn¡¯t work for your schedule, any time you can put in

is ideal. Rep. Heck¡¯s office is at 7395 S. Pecos Rd., Suite 104, Las Vegas. Join us

for Heck Day and help defeat Harry Reid¡¯s personal choice and keep the

Senate in Republican hands. Call Carolyn von Gortler at 702-914-3730 and

she¡¯ll put you to work. We need you!

Trudi Daily, myself and Heather Stamer tried to see Trump last

month at Treasure Island. There were 7,000 people and only 1,500 seats.

Needless to say, we didn¡¯t get in. Don¡¯t believe all the hype you hear from the

media about Trump¡¯s popularity waning. The populace is turning out in huge

numbers for Trump wherever he goes. Hillary can¡¯t draw these crowds. The

Nevada Republican Party walk lists show large numbers of Undecided and

Democrats who are on the edge and can be swayed to vote for Republicans in

the November election. This is best reason to walk your neighborhood and

help elect Republicans. Bottom line: NEVER HILLARY!

A leader in the Democratic Party is a boss, in the Republican Party he is a leader.

~ Harry S. Truman

CARING FOR AMERICA

By Chairwoman, Trudi Dailey

This year we are once again asking for help with Project 150. This project is to

help encourage students in the Las Vegas Valley, so they have the support they

need to continue their education and graduate.

Needed for the upcoming months are donations for the homeless, and

disadvantaged high school students. This year the donations needed are new

socks and underwear for both male and female students. These items are easy to find in bulk and are quite

inexpensive at places like Kohl's , Sam¡¯s Club or Costco.

In addition to needing clothes, Caring for America¡¯s main focus this year is the "share a meal and feed it

forward" program. This will allow Project 150 to provide meals for the students for holidays between

Thanksgiving and Christmas. Any amount of money is appreciated, a donation of $30.00 will feed a family of

four.

We are asking our members to bring their donations to the

next meeting on July 26, 2016.

If you have any questions, please email me at

kealalani2001@ or call me at 702 458-0574.

The National Silver Haired Congress awarded Rana Goodman with the ¡°Senior Citizen of the Year¡±
